You can die, but you have the ability to undo it. Almost no home video game today has a real game over, anyway; you can lose, but you get to make a fresh start from the last checkpoint. Why not take that to its logical extreme?
It was good to see in my opinion. I couldn't figure out why the key wouldn't work on the doors - but I didn't expect that it was just one of the doors as they look identical.
I know this comment is old but for the record...the key only works on one of the doors because you have to be moving towards the right in order to make time move forward. If you try to unlock a door while moving backwards in time (ie, to the left), it can't logically work because you aren't able to open anything going backwards through time. So it does make sense. :)
Now, I exactly know, why it is called "Jumpman".
1.) Level looks like Donkey Kong's stage 1 or whatever called...
2.) "During the development of Donkey Kong, Mario was known as Jumpman" - from wikipedia

Did anyone else LOL as they started this level? First "your princess is in another castle" and now this. Being a Mario fan, I love it.

This level has a bug. The left door wouldn't open the first time I tried it. Key just lay there, but you suck so much you disbelieve it.
SentientComputer 2 years ago
@SentientComputer Or maybe you just went a little to the left after using the key, thereby closing the door again without restoring the key.
This is simple technical language for Braid - If you don't understand it, SentientComputer, you don't understand this level.

@Emil12345558 Who wants to play a game where most of the levels have bugs? Game acts all strange, Emil - strange you hear! ;-)

dude! the whole point of braid is to solve it yourself rather than watch a walkthrough! this is so cheap, why buy the game then?

I beat this a few days ago. It's some tough stuff, but it was well worth the money.

After seeing this video I think I need this game. The idea of this level is pure awesomeness - very clever and original.
