My interpretation of this song was that all of Flyleaf's work was inspired by Him and though they are thankful as the penholder of His inspiration, they feel that they don't deserve the recognition. That's just my interpretation of the song. I think they should give themselves some more credit for their talent and their art, but that's just an opinion of mine.
A- I can see how it can relate to how she's just using her pen to write what God has already given her to write. God made a plan for her and it seems like all of her fans are giving Lacey all of the credit when in reality, she thinks her fans need to thank God for Laceys music more then herself.
B- I can also see how it could be about abuse or rape because I don't exactly remember the lyrics but something along the lines of "I'll show you what he's done to me."

I love this song, its one of my faves. I can definently relate to it. Lacey's pretty much saying in the song that she doesnt deserve all the credit for the music she writes. I remember coming here just a year ago saying how I believed in God and how I liked how lacey isn't exactly begging for attention here. I still do. Thanks for posting this vid. This is a very beautiful song. I can see why so many people are talking about this band. I saw them live in Anchorage but didn't really get it...it was so freakin loud I couldn't make out what she was singing... but this is a very beautiful song indeed!

I remember coming here just a year ago saying how I believed in God and how I liked how lacey isn't exactly begging for attention here. I still do. I like that she isn't after fame & money but that her music means something. but I no longer feel the kind of connection between myself and her that made me gush over it because I actually felt exhausted by trying to "follow God" and all that. it was like every little freakin thing I did was a mistake. still love flyleaf, though. always will. <3

this song is so beautiful.. about how she is just doing gods will not her own, and god is the one you REALLY need to think. about how without god she wouldnt be anything wonderfull, and SHE, the part of her that is the sinner, doesnt deserve any of gods gifts, but god makes her equal with him by jesus's blood, so she can be perfect and do gods works :)

I adore this band, and this song. Before, I was feeling kinda lost and was slowly losing my faith but when i found flyleaf i instantly fell in love with their music. 1 day i actually paid attention to the lyrics of their songs i just felt so touched and it made me want to be a better christian
