  • LO DE LA OPERETA ESTA DE MAS...................EL BELCANTO ES UNA COSA Y LA OPERETA ES OTRA............ESTA CLARO QUE SUTHERLAND JAMAS SERA DE OPERETA....Y ESO NO TIENE NI DISCUSION......SU VOZ ES SOLIDA ....IMPONENTE ...Y UNICA Y SOLO PUEDE SER TRANSPORTADA AL BELCANTO....PORQUE SU POTENCIA ES DEMASIADO PARA LA OPERETA Y LA MUESTRA ES QUE CUANDO CANTA OPERETA.......LE DA UN GRADO DE SERIEDAD DEMASIADO FUERTE PARA LA OPERETA...QUE ES CUANDO LA OPERETA TIENE VALOR PORQUE SINO PARECE PELICULA BOBA

  • Is that the best you could come up with, phrasing? And you call yourself a critic :P

Personally, I'd be complaining about Rescigno's complete and utter lack of sensitivity to the score and his singer, LONG before even thinking about commenting on phrasing.

  • Thank you for sharing with us those recordings

  • What's this??

    Elkins as Agnese???

    That's the EARLY years.

Only knew the 3 recorings from Joan, 2 live and one from Decca.

Beatrice demanded much from the voice, she was so GREAT in it!

The libretto was splendid for Joan.
