u shouldve went through all the different effect types now i wont know the difference between the metal master and the death metal digitech stompboxes :(
hey when i plug my cable from my amp into the first input which is (out 2 mixer) to my amp why does it make alot of humming noise? but if i plug it in to the( out 1 amp) from my amp than it don't make no humming noise! the funny thing is i set all my setting the same but if i plug into the either input than they sound different why do it do that? all my setting is the same! thanks
im so glad i have this pedal. im watching some reviews n stuff of guitars that are way more expensive than mine but they sound SHIT because of the crappy dists they use. i have a 100$ amp , Cort EVL-K4 and this pedal and my sound is heavy as hell!
I was just doing some research for a new dist pedal, i think i found the 1! Thanx for the video, this thing sounds just great. I like that raw Slipknot sound, i think this pedal will do well with my RGT prestige with SD Blackouts AHB-2 in it!! ;))
@69mankilla It all falls to water when you go live. Nothing beats overdriven amp distortion. I kinda find that some pedals sound great boosted. DS-1 for example. Others are just horrible, MT-2 for instance. But I guess it's just a matter of personal preference.
@FrozenSparky Well, think of a thin distortion like a distortion with no balls. Kinda crunchy with almost no harmonics and loose all over the place. And thick would be something like that really sounds tight and controllable with lots of harmonics. DS-1 stock for instance is a little thin. But very thick when you stick and overdrive to it.
@deathpill100 Yeah actually its a good plug and play pedal. I mean u plug it in any amp u can find and you get an ultra thick sound, really good palm muting and a good lead tone instantly (especially ona bass amp). The main drawback is that it sounds kinda boxy and it does not respect at all your guitar sound. With this pedal you will get nearly the same sound with many different guitars.
@ShittakeBukakke i have this pedal and i use an epiphone les paul, which uses Alnico V humbuckers..........orgasmic sound!!!! i highly suggest you get this pedal if you hadn't already.
I was looking for a distortion pedal for death metal, and I was considering buying the digitech death metal pedal, but after listening to some demos, I'm starting to think that the metal master sounds even better
@ansiaaa666 please honestly dude dont do it... do not get the death metal pedal... it is the worst pice of shit of all time i freaking lost £45 coz of it but i gto this pedal and its a beauty... do it... get this pedal :p
this is kwl im sure its awesome if thts wat ur lookin for but i want a heavy sound i waS tryin to deside wether to get this or the death metal one but imma get the death metal one
Dimebag rules, kabanosi. :D I want the new Dean Dimebag Razorback with the custom blue lightening graphic. (Even though its not as fancy as say the Razorback Explosion, still a sweet looking guitar though). I also have this pedal and its awesome and its my favorite. I also got the Death Metal pedal and I also got the RP90 pedal. I only got a slimsy 15 watt Hartke amp but its pretty good with the Metal Master pedal. Anyway, nice playing dude. When you do your leads, do you play on the 1st string
i have this pedal and its fucking amazing. I like to have the morph knob dialed all the way back; the high at 75%; the low at 100%. I also like having the morph at 75%; the high at the first mark PAST the half-way point; the low at 100%. you can get that chimaira sound with the first one, and more of an early slipknot sound with the second one.
this can make the same sound as the death metal, it should tell you how in one of the manuals you get, and it can also make the same sound as the boss metal zone. definately get this one
they are both very good. my friend has the metal master and i have the death metal pedal. if you want cleaner heavy distortion get the metal master and if you want crunchy heavy distortion get the death metal pedal
"metal master"... ha! i think not! this thing has no gain. it makes tube amps sound like you're pressing against the speaker! the digitech grunge is the way to go
dude your full of shit, i have a b-52 stealth series tube amp, and this pedal sounds amazing, gives it a mix between atreyu and pantera feel. i love it, plus this guy doesn't have the gained turned up, and you need to put the bass all the way up and treble at about 75% trust me dude this pedal kicks major ass! rock on dude!!!
the pedal is really great even with my cube 20x its sounds superb i got mine: low 100%, high 75% morph 100%, and if i switch to my distortion channel with the setting at 25% gain and on en the distortion modelling its souns like dimebags sounds :D (amp EQ: low 90%, mid 25%, high between 75% and 65%
@jeserty6 It depends on what you are playing. Digitech not suited for death metal. Heavy metal or deathcore maybe or a la pantera style but that's it. I tried this one and it's not the shittiest but close too.
@soultenebrae - Digitech's not good for death metal?! Are you kidding? Jack Owen, formerly of Cannibal Corpse, now with Deicide, used this exact same pedal, the Digitech 2101 rack unit, and now the Digitech GSP1101. I'd say Jack knows about death metal.
@tony93666 Yean that's what I'm exactly telling you. They lost alot of their brutal sound since he used this. More core oriented sound. @tony93666 Each is opinion on that argument but I prefer they older stuff wich I think the sound was more brutal more raw and punishing. But this we cannot argue. Nice channel by the way.

other than the fact the tone isnt kinda crapy id say its a decent pedal i tryied one at GC i wasnt a fan i prefer the digitech deathmetal or a BOSS metalzone but hey we all have opinions ^^ keep rocken
if your running it on a battery it means your batt is probs low. The pedal has a pass through so just running a clean tone through it doesnt even require power of any sort. Get a charger i reccomend
I have Squier Strat bulet series...and fender 15g amp...i m thinking about buying this pedal...will it fit my guitar...coz i cant afford better...im still newbie and im asking about your openion ...i realy like this distorsion...
@markole91 I have this pedal, and I my first amp was a Frontman 15G. I liked the sound when I didnt know better, but now Ive got a 150w marshall halfstack, and know what this pedal is all about. u shudnt go for such a higain pedal with a small speaker like that. (38w if im not mistaking)
@markole91 If you want real heavy metal type distortion, then I would recommend a Digitech Hardwire Metal distortion, but It is pretty expensive... The HardWire is an improved digitech line of effects, and the metal distortion is awesome! Unlike this one, which is very deep, with a lot of bass, the Metal Distortion is very deep too, but you can climb up the neck, and it completely nails those high notes..
@WachaDrop I have a Digitech Death Pedal, which I'll admit isn't the best. But it sounds far better than most Boss pedals, which in my opinion all sound pretty thin, trebly and weak.
I would suggest the Marshall Guv'nor plus, that's what I use. If you need more high end, pair it with a stock ds-1. You would be amazed how taking these 2 pedals and using their different features work.. This combo gets a nice VH tone I think.
I think this pedal has bad distortion. Too much Brightness impossible to clean. Notes can´t be listened ok at high volume settings, it´s designed to make noise. I liked demonstration, so the video have my 5/5.
Thats the biggest thing I hate about this pedal! Kinda let down when I purchased this! I was stoked bc it deff sounded better than my practice amp distortion but when I played through an decent sized amp it sounded too fake!
i know that's the same problem w/ mine.... my power supply input on the top doesn't or or something.. it's fine w/ a battery though.... but then clean doesn't work like you said....
make sure you have a power supply with the right polarity. if you dont no sound will come out. Happened with mind but i got a new one and it works fine w/ the power supply and battery now
Cmod dude i try this pedal from tube amp and it`s sound like shit and it`s DIGITAL..And the sound is so gay.Buy the grung pedal or the death metal. But if you need the real buy boss mt-2 Metal ZONE
He is actually down tuned, your 440 ears can't pick up on the sub tones, lol. You guys suck, stay in the 80's.

your doing some chorus stuff with the pedal ok now its for the heavy distortion you have to frist
1. turn of the pedal
2. then go to the other pedal and turn that one on.
you can't really do it that fast when standing live lol

Digitech could have invested a dollar and put in a mid contol knob with adeguate circuitry.

Thats the biggest thing I hate about this pedal! Kinda let down when I purchased this! I was stoked bc it deff sounded better than my practice amp distortion but when I played through an decent sized amp it sounded too fake!
dsvogel420 2 years ago 2
I bet you were running this through a ss amp cause it sounded too digital.Digitechs suck thru ss amps but are very very good thru tubes

Metalhead13a 2 years ago
Level 12 o´clock, low 3 o´clock, hi 1 o´clock and morph 5 o´clock. That works awesomely, if you play real hevy metal..

mine wont work unless it is connected w/ another pedal... is that what the problem is?
jsmith5052 2 years ago
no when i kick it to clean there is no volume
broncos346 2 years ago
i know that's the same problem w/ mine.... my power supply input on the top doesn't or or something.. it's fine w/ a battery though.... but then clean doesn't work like you said....
jsmith5052 2 years ago
make sure you have a power supply with the right polarity. if you dont no sound will come out. Happened with mind but i got a new one and it works fine w/ the power supply and battery now
