Thanks for the video, but I have to say you get what you pay for... For mucking around I find the turnigy's fine. You may have just got a bad batch for some reason.
@EverydayPorsche Your dead right Porsche. Funny though, up until now I've never had a problem with lipos from Hobbyking. I've still got some old Rhinos that kick butt. Seems that all the dodgy lipos have been just recently. I've just had a 2650 5S arrive with a completely dead cell. I sent it back and got a credit.
I will charge them and try again this weekend. I will video again. I'll try and use the same model for all the tests.I'll also use some of the other lipos I have to compare.
Maybe try re-wrapping the cells to expose the center cell more like the white battery was. The temp difference was the first thing I thought of as well.
That really blows! As far as I understand, Turnigy is actually a brand that amalgamates a bunch of no-name components under the same, randomly QC'ed banner. At least that was my understanding of their motors. Ever since we went Hyperion for our batts, we haven't looked back. Their discharge is rock-solid and I've never seen a cell more than 0.03V out from the other ones. We use a number of batts from the G3 range: 1100mAh 2S, 2500mAh 3S and 2200mAh 4S - none of them have ever failed us =)

Granted - they are a fair bit pricier, but considering they last so many more cycles and deliver such constant current, they are worth it :)
