loved this, and think that the demo's are better then the finished songs that ended up in the show I love the show, but thought that they needed to keep things that were more the film then what ended up being in there.
It is so incredibly sad to me that Emily Skinner never got a chance to be Ursula in the final production. This is such an incredibly beautiful and brilliant interpretation of this character. I love love love love LOVE it.
OK, I'm officially obsessed with this song. Why anyone would cut it is beyond me (unless, maybe, if it was for the content, which isn't exactly kid-friendly). If Scott was the one who decided it had to go, well, then, shame on her.
@fahmad27 I'M NOT ENTIRELY CERTAIN ABOUT THIS (to avoid comments about how stupid I am, lol), but it seems like it would make sense somewhere during the (discarded) scenes where Vanessa's about to marry Eric. It definitely seems like she's singing to a mute Ariel, at any rate.
i cant believe sherie just went and told alan menken to cut the song... cuz she didnt feel she could "do it justice". who does she think she is? and they woudnt have hired her if she didnt do the songs justice. it annoys me that sherie did that, but i do like I Want the Good Times Back a lot.
i love ES on this recording. I listened to a SRS interview and she was saying she told alan menken she didnt feel she could do the 2 ursula solo justice, as there not ''her style'' ad thus good times was born.
Sherie Rene Scott and Pat Carroll are better and i prefer them! But Emily Skinner progressed well! and Yes! Her evil laugh is very fun and nice to hear!
Is it possible to find the sheet music for this song? If so, where?

@anotheraxelfangirl I think you're right right about this. Would explain the line "See you in church, doll!" too.

Yeah, and I was shocked to notice that "I Want the Good Times Back" included the words "aphrodisiac" and "damn", but it's tame compared to this one.

doesnt appear in the demo, but it is in the score with reversed parts, i.e its starts with flounder.

Emily Skinner is the BEST Ursula. I am sorry but I hate how the show turned out. The Demo will always be "the show" in my mind
