@21boxhead al-Assad is trying to force on the syrian people a regime that is not accepted by many.obviously there aren't the institutions in place to be able to manage this discontent in a political arena. the violence is a symptom not the problem, KILLING IS NOT THE SOLUTION. No institutions in Syria TO HAVE a political battle, were the casualties are "votes lost"or"reputations lost"or to "remove Al Assad from Syria"peacefully.
The only battle,is men against men, were the casualties are lives!!!
@21boxhead Free Syrian Army was trained by Al-Assad, now he is getting a spoonful of his own medicine. That is why Syria has to get out of this horrible dictatorship. Get out of the middle ages in to the modern free world. Al Assad is not the person to do it. He has been born in to a dictatorship and is blind to the real needs of a modern state!!!

Why are you idiots falling for Mossad-Qatar-CIA Hollywood trickery? This is recycled footage, some clearly green screen backdrops with cg elements. They just want to have an excuse for another NATO invasion.
@alunhughes147 Ok, as long as Iran's as an enemy of humanity exist. This situation will continue. We don't accept the Iranian regimen of evil and death. I needs to be dealt with!!!
One of the most brutal Arab tyrannies is about to fall. Assad regime, a left over from Cold War era, is running out of gas ( and bullets). Assad played most of his cards and the international community must stop him before he delivers the "earthquake" the he promised the whole area should he is not left alone killing right and left.
@rampage241 No it is As'aad; it may sound similar in Ebglish but it is spelled and pronounced totally different in Arabic. By the way Assad family used to have different name; it was" Wah'sh" which means" beast" The old real name may fit the Assads character more than the newer one; there is dominant vioilent gene in most of them; Hafez, Raf'aat, Basel, Maher and Bashar are all very brutal and ruthless individuals.
Just look at this video.. even Aljazeeral earlier coverage of Syria revolution shows the ultimate proof that rebels have been paid to create chaos in the country.. and you will also see rebels shooting at people indiscriminately youtube
Assad should step aside after getting interrnational guarantees including every single permanent member of the security council to intervene if there is not complete equality for all syrians of every religion in a post assad era, written into and guaranteed by the 5 to enforce with armed force if necessary..
Soon they will be calling for American help,''to stop the genocide''.And after America helps, people will damn America for intervening.Just like in Libya,Kosovo....etc.etc.
@downunderdemocrat ,because America and/or NATO(which includes America)have the power to be effective. For example, they can impose and maintain a 'no-fly zone'.It would be good if the Arab neighbours acted, but they lack the power to do much. And Iran is a supporter of the current Syrian regime.
@liwaroman point is: bashar is trying to force on the syrian people a regime that is not accepted by many. obviously there aren't the institutions in place to be able to manage this discontent in a political arena. the violence is a symptom not the problem. al assad seems not to realize it, & is trying to fight with violence the discontent, a typical dictatorship response.
Syrians have been demanding Syrian army presence all along to protect them from mercenary snipers.
I wonder what the Emir of Qatar would do if rebel Qataris, who were organized, armed, paid and accompanied by Syrian special ops, marched on his palace?
@mispistoleros More like leftovers from the IDF that were left over during the "security zone" ocupation of Southern Lebanon that members of the FSA bought and smuggled into the country. Get real, the Syrians hate Israel as much as they hate Assad so it's doubtful that they would make an alliance with Israel.
Libyan, Iraqi, Afghan and Dagestani "Al Qaeda" mercenaries, armed with Israeli weapons, courtesy of the Emir of Qatar and the House of Saud, smuggled in via Lebanon and Turkey...the fledgling Free Syria Army, if there ever was such a thing, was infiltrated and hijacked long ago, like the original Bengazi rebels and Iran's Greens, by foreigners with an agenda which has nothing to do with human rights or the aspirations of the Syrian people.
@mispistoleros There are no institutions with in the state of Syria were there can be a political battle, were casualties are "votes lost"or"reputations lost"or a way to "remove Bashar Al Assad from managing Syria"peacefully.
Thus the only battle to be had,is men against men, were the casualties are lives.
Of course the free nations are concerned & asked Al Assad for reforms of the State. But after 40 yrs of dictatorship, Al Assad doesn't see it, he is ill prepare to manage a modern free Syria.
@JustinYoelSkaat werent the rebels the one wanting a peaceful resolution to the problems and now that assad is offering it the rebels are refusing intern instigating more violence? dont know much about syria but seems kinda sketch imo
@fivemeomedia yeah, Assad is now 'offering' a 'peaceful' resolution 10 months after he killed more than 5000 civilians on the streets. If he has any credibility left in him, then yes, the rebels should take up his 'offer' for 'talks'. But the problem is, he has none, and his time to go will come in months, not years.
@fivemeomedia Yep.. mercenaries don't want peace they want power.. so conlfict will not end until they killed or they take by force the government. Assad already agreed to move to a democracy government with presidential elections and the opposition still continue with the fight.. shows there is more that democracy after all..but a hidden agenda.
@Vann7 there is no doubt this is bashar al assad responsibility. stop blaming exterior sources. it is bashar al assad's incompetence that has this mess rolling. he is like any other dictator in history holding to power by killing his own people. it has never worked, & it will not work this time either, the rebellion has started and it will not end till there is a change, for better or for worst. there is no doubt this is bashar al assad incompetence to manage syria thus his responsibility.
@fivemeomedia assad wants poeace talks? for reforms after he is recieving the heat from the protesters? reforms after Iran is begging Assad to change to a quack "democratic" reform while the country itself is a repressive regime using islam? there are 20,000 supporters of Assad mainly from the alawite tribe compared to 100,000 anti-assad. thats just exactly like Lybia: tens of thousand sof Gaddafi supporters compared to 300, 000 anti-gaddafi...
