  • I just read the sad news that Johnny Maestro is gone. We've lost another mainstay of Rock. My condolences to his family. He was a great singer who brought me hours of happiness with his talent. I think that the Righteous Brothers have it "If There's A Rock and Roll Heaven" then you know they've got a hell of a band. What a show we'll have when we arrive. Thank you for the post. Rock is eternal.

  • A classic voice falls silent. Thanks to the wonders of technology (You Tube) Johnny will live forever. RIP, great voice!

  • Johnny is now performing to standing room only in Heaven. "If there's a Doo Wop Heaven, then they must have a hell of a band". Ron

  • He had such a great voice!

  • love this band alot, sorry for the lost

  • Happy Birthday Johnny Maestro, I know you're in Heaven singing with Angels. You always had a fondness for singing about Angels. Someday I'll hear you sing with them. RIP

  • No more trouble in paradise. Johnny's now an official angel himself. RIP, Johnny.

  • Wow, I too just learned from this site that Johnny left us a month ago. He brought a lot of passion and talent to the air waves and was a good friend in helping me navigate my early teen years. RIP, old friend.

  • I just learned Johnny died on March 24, 2010. What a loss!! He had just turned 70 last year, Wish his family well at this horrid time. Maybe Johnny is reunited up there with all the great Doowop rockers who have passed. I will listen to and love him till my end comes. He sounded as good at 70 as he did when he was with The Crests on the streets. God bless him & his family, We will NEVER forget him!

  • Hey folks, this song is in tribute to Johnny Maestro who lost his battle with cancer on March 24, 2010. He may be gone but not forgotten, leaving us a legacy of great songs from his first group The Crests and then his second, the Brooklyn Bridge that will long live on. R.I.P. Johnny and you'll be in that rock and roll heaven band with all the other fallen greats, Be sure to take center stage every so often, you earned that spot and right to do so!!!

  • Anyone remember zip guns?

  • brylcream, peg leg pants, black pointed shoes with white lightning streak on side and cuban heels...and then the hop...all night hold my girl real tight

  • Pompadour hair styles, cigarette packs in your t-shirt sleeves, motorcycle jackets, etc., etc.

  • don't forget the "flat top" and "detroit" hairdos. Belt buckle slightly off to one side; "taps" on those pointed shoes;

  • And the "DA" too!

  • Also switchblades.

  • Hey, truknights, I think we called them just "peg pants" or "pegged pants". Someone talked about "highwaters" in a comment about the "The Angels Listened In" video. Same thing, as I recall.

  • Takes me back to a time when music made you smile, get on your feet and dance all night!!

  • This song was playing in the background of the bar Phil returns to from Florida in the episode of the Sopranos "Soprano Home Movies".

  • I only found out the name and artist of this song recently, even though I had heard it many times over the years. I am more familiar with Johnny Maestro as a member of his later group, the Brooklyn Bridge. And the one Crests song I usually think of is "16 Candles".

  • Good song, remember this from the Sopranos.

  • wich episode was it it?

  • really nice song <3 I get down on my knees for this song ;)
