What happened at the end, is that he was implanted with the design of The Marker. This caused him to hallucinate and become a schizophrenic.

In Dead Space 2, you have to fight again on a Space Station, yet with more Necromorphs. And at the end, well. I'm not spoiling that.

@TheBlackGunslinger ok good, dont spoil the DS2 ending for me cos I haven't played that game yet (lol) but I kinda remember the ending to DS1 and there was that necromorph in the spaceship right at the end, when he looked to his right...ur saying that was just a hallucination due to the Marker's effect on him? or was that abomination really there?? damn, I hate necromorphs so much and the way they kill Issac if he got unlucky, was just brutal...partly why this game kicks ass though :D

i like ds1 more than ds2,why? simple because you fight against 3 large bosses and the last boss is freaking awesome(the hive mind), in ds2 we barely fight one boss cause what you do is just escape from him and the ending was cheap a mental battle against nicole and the hive mind, i remember after i defeated nicole on ds2 i was waiting for a big boss battle and suddenly that's it, no big boss no big cheese no giant necromoph,i was so pissed off that i turn off my console hahaha!
