WOOOWWW!!!!...it moves you to battle and you feel the "CHARGE!!!" running in your blood stream!!!...My great great grand mother sang this Opera at the Met ridding her own Lipizzaner horses with several other great singers to standing ovations of the 1920 to 1930...Those were the days of grandeur and fabulous voices!!!!...

  • @liorgershon How is "his art is worthless because he is an antisemit", different from "he is worthless because he is a jew"?

  • @Kabitu1 He was a good artist, but he was anti-Semitic, he hated a certain group of population, and wanted to expel them from Germany. It is true that a good artist - but what good is it if you hate that burns in you! Hate is a bad thing! No matter who! Have a good day, and learn to love every person, no matter who he is ...

  • @liorgershon I guess that loving anyone includes haters... then what is your problem. In such a fashion, music composure should be limited only to saints! (and not all of them either...) He was a great artist... and that's all folks... And if hated is necessary (NOT RASISM) to write a song, as long as it stays only a song I am OK... :P

  • @Kabitu1 He was an antisemite? Well then, whoever this 'liogershon' guy is makes a decent observation. Artists, especially romanticist artists, pour their ideals into their work. At least, that is typical. That is not to say that A: this stuff is some sort of antisemite propoganda, or B: that his work is lesser for his beliefs. It should be considered, however, that we are glancing into the soul of this kind of human being. Hence the glory and relentlessness of the music. Perhaps I am wrong.

  • sounds like Star Wars

  • poor violins :'(

  • You can idolize him as a musician, but he is in many ways responsible for Hitler's dangerous ideology. Just watch his plays and you'll see what I mean.

  • @WhiskeyTango12 Yeah, Wagner wasn't particularly known for absolutist messages and anti-semitist lyrics

  • @WhiskeyTango12

Perhaps some. Hitler's justification in speeches was directly from Charles Darwin. "Nature is cruel, it is our right to be cruel as well" and the whole idea that the German people were Aryans and therefore the most fit... the "master race." Darwin coined the phrase "survival of the fittest." Darwin's observation wasn't wrong, the fit do survive, but God made humans above the animals and expects more - to love, to have compassion, not to exterminate.

  • @357MagnumBob Darwin didnt coin the Phrase 'Survival of the Fittest'.

    That was Herbert Spencer.

People tend to misinterpret 'fit' in this context.

It means suitable or well adapted.

  • israel approved this music

  • Listening to Wagner makes me feel like invading Poland !

  • That music is genius ! I usually listen to it when doing something very hard to do...

  • I was brought here by a hotweelz comment

  • @TheHamashwan ahahaha me 2

  • i cannot belive people talk about hitler here. art has nothing to do with that cause it is universal, and german people offered some of the best composers and writers in the world. It's hard to explain that to people who never read a book or listened for real the music. keep americasing yourself , this misery of todays mankind is not supportable for me.

  • @pobesnelizmaj It's just a quote of Woody Allen : "When I listen to Wagner's music a long time, it makes me in the mood to invade Poland", which makes us laugh.

  • @feanor637 oh sorry, i didn't know, and watch woody allen too.

  • sucks that it only took a month for germany to invade poland and took us 4 years to beat them

  • Looking at the comments about the United States of America across all forms of communication, there are two themes I detect: a sense that you do not want us to meddle in your affairs, and that if we keep out of it we should have gotten involved because it was convenient for the parties in question. why cant people just make up their minds? Either your an adult country and can wipe your own ass and fight your own fights, or your a child that needs old Uncle Sam to step in. Cant have it both ways.

  • Shouldn't have bothered looking at the comments because I knew they would be all politics.

  • Poland , like all nations have in history, has went thorugh an unfortunate decline in the past few hundred years. It was a premier European power in the 16th and early 17th century, but then it had the misfortune of being stuck inbetween 3 of the worlds strongest states and was inevitably crushed. Then in 1919, an artificial Polish state was created by the Allies containing many Germans, which pissed off Germany, and in the 1920's Poland expanded into Ukraine and Belarus, pissing off the USSR.

  • All of you guys are assholes to each other I wouldn't be surprised if a teenage World War broke out because "your" country is better than others, you guys need to get over the past World War 2 has been over for awhile, grow up and stop being babies whining about your country and how it "survived" Hitler and Stalins attacks :D

  • So, I took the time to look through the comments...

Is it just me or is everyone that is arguing about the war a homophobe?

  • World anthem:)

  • Now I understand why Nietzsche become a philosopher.

  • Why the hell are the people talking about their contries on a masterpiece of Wagner ? He was only music, and you should respect that !

  • Whenever I hear this song I think of three things:

    1. A hunter hunting for, and trying to kill wabbits.

    2. A fleet of U.S. military helicopters about to attack some Vietnamese Commies.

    3. A cool pegasus pony flying around with an eagle, a falcon, an owl, and a bat, while a tortoise struggles to catch up.

  • Pure epicness!

  • enough with your flame wars internet warriors... i'm here to feel epic and I AM

  • This is a very energetic and dynamic piece....I love it.

  • oh, you guuuys :D

  • KILL THE WABBIT!!!!!

  • @HusarzSLAV Man, NOW you offended me. You just said our women are uglier than American and British women. Now you god old Loki sad :'(. But then again, I know it's bullshit. Our women are the prettiest of Western Europe. We are still chickens? Try being bombed by Zionist hardcore propaganda for over 60 years. But just so you know, slowly, the "chickens" are becoming Eagles.

  • Oh shut it about war and enjoy this awesome composure you twats!! >:|

  • I'm going to ignore thos who try to make any similiratiues with Mexico, my homeland with that small country called Poland whos only merit wasgiving the world a Pope that no one liked and to try to focus on the song and imagine I'm riding a chopper killing Charlies

  • Damn you Hitler!!!! This song is too good 4 u >.>

  • Daniel Bryan!

  • RIP Gen.Stauffenberg

and oh if you flame me dont bother cause i will block you and i will not respond

  • daniel bryans theme

  • Yes, 'Ride" has become a bit of a cliche (Bugs Bunny, ladies with helmuts). But if we scrape that all away and listen to it 'new'--you'll find its a thrilling piece of orchestral/theatrical magic. Wagner was a wizard with the orchestraand building up tension dramatically (remember he was a director, too). Ride is one of the greatest orchestral pieces of all time.

  • DANIEL BRYAN IS AWESOME

  • Noo, USA installs democracy!

  • The only good thing about the german is its music...

    greetings from poland

  • @landeuxmille and the beer food and women, go there why dont you, its funny cause im american and Im not the one being a jackass about where other people are from...I guess you poles are still sour after what Hitler did to you..

FRANCE I WANT TO BRING THE BLITKZKRIEG TO FRANCE!!!!

  • While you guys think of choppers and Poland, I'M THINKING ABOUT THE BADASS NORSE WARRIOR DEATH GODDESSES! WOO!!!!

  • MAKE ME IN THE MOOD TO INVADE POLAND

  • SimCopter anyone?

  • Makes me proud to be Russian.

  • @iceburg008 That comment makes absolutely no sense at all.

  • @rayhudsondubstep Who cares..

  • Comment removed

  • Hitler did probably have sex or masturbate, but that doesn´t stop me from doing it either, so what´s the point!? Sure, he liked Wagner, like he loved power, glory, chocolate etc so!?

  • There is absolutely nothing "nazi" about Wagner´s music. It´s a MYTH!!!!

  • How come all you guys sit on your helmets?

  • If you watch WWE then you know this is daniel bryans theme

  • I'm sick of people bitching about anit-semitism everywhere. Fucking kikes, shut the fuck up and go listen to something else.

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus And I am sick of reading yoru anti-semitic comments. Why don't you go somewhere else and let people enjoy this beautiful music.

  • @jewelmarkess I don't care what you're sick of you hook-nosed untermensch.

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus There is this special brand of insecurity that people like you have that makes you need to put down others to feel better - because you yourself is a loser. You have nothing to be proud of yourself so you need to feel superior because of accident of birth. Feel free to do so.

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus Shut up you evil anti-semite! Don't you know nazis and communists and christians and pagans and aliens and kitties killed 564684156413541368716415316834153413867413684136871438716387136871638716871387368716387136 jews?! D:

  • "Kill the Rabbit!"/("Kiww da Wabbit!") - Elmer Fudd, "What's Opera, Doc?"

  • @bananaphoneman11 how do you know?

  • why do I think off Humpty Alexandre Dumpty when I hear this??????

  • muy bueno :)

  • YES!

  • i am watching this because of the big bang theory

  • "Ready to roll out!"

"I'm about to drop the hammer...and dispense some indiscriminate justice!"

  • @Murillable "What is your major malfunction?"

"Tattara daan daan, tattara daan daan!!"

  • he still hated jews

  • 109 people thinks this guy was a nazi

  • @bananaphoneman11

Judging by the top comments, I'd say the 9,100 people are the nazi.. go figure.

  • smh.

  • hell yes.

  • PS: Now, granted, Wagner may have been more outspoken about his anti-Semitism than the average person of the times. . .but that's just the kind of person he was, apparently. Didn't keep his controversial opinions quiet.

  • To the various people viewing this video who might want to dismiss Wagner as being an anti-Semite. . .I invite you to consider the fact that during Wagner's time, being 'anti-Jew' was fairly common, ESPECIALLY in Germany. The Jewish people were not very well liked even before the 20' and 30's. Does it excuse the anti-Semitism? No. . .but one should take into consideration of how different the world of the mid-late 1800's is from the modern age, where we rightfully do not tolerate anti-Semitism.

  • One time I listened this on a plane...

  • @pikachu0exe EPIC

  • Everytime I hear Wagner I feel like invading Poland...

  • @Nargalen Hah! Brilliant joke but you can't blame Wagner (1813-1883) that he was a hero for the nazis.

  • @mahtivaari72 he was kinda anti-semitic actually...

  • @Nargalen that's woody allen no? =)
