Yes and no. It uses the technique platform of the C-class, but it's more advanced, being a mid-size luxury vehicle. It's more a smaller, butt still that well made S-class, the most advanced regular series car. It's a machine that incorporates everything that Daimler AG (MB's parent company) knows about cars and can incorporate in a car at that price. And I say that it worth every penny for technique, design, performance and comfort.

Estate cars are for people who are too cool to care what vulgar people think about them. The reason why they're cool is because genuinely cool people make decisions based on subtler concepts of style, taste and purpose; often too subtle for oafish, juvenile, trend victims.

Often, Estate, Touring or Avant cars are the best-looking versions in a model line-ups. That's not to say that they're always the best format, but if you look at the Audi RS2, you'll see the singular attraction of an Avant.
