  • very funny cute way to start my day. Reminds me of my life.

  • what can we do to save the ideas of libraries, check tpihk.blogspot.com for one answer in face of the cuts that will come in under the budget cuts

  • This song makes me want to go to the library

  • to add to my earlier comment (@Phil) - as a librarian and, more so, as a taxpayer, i think there should be no parliamentary (politicians' in Australian terms) libraries - why would MPs or other politicians deserve better service and resources then what they allow to their community(ies)?! - if this would be so (IF) we would see the difference (and less cuts too)! i'd love to see publishing industry making fun of their norm of 8-9% growth p/a in this way - that would make my day!

  • I LOVE JACK!!! HAHA!! :D

  • This brought a smile to all our faces at our staff conference, Thanks. You’re doing a great job and yes! We will survive. Keep up the good work. You've inspired us to make a video of or own. Swansea. WALES

  • We have a small library in my town; they put up a branch of city college right next door. With the students and the economy, the library is thriving. It helps folks without computers and it's a source for everything you could imagine. I used to work in the branch oh 30 odd years ago. Nice to see it still going. And nice to see this video show just how much we still REALLY need public libraries.

  • This is so awesome.

    :D

  • CONGRATULATIONS FROM ARGENTINA!!!!!

  • I wish I were so certain. Thanks for the laugh though!

  • good job ladies and some guys i love to check out mangas but they dont have enough money to afford them :(

  • Awesome job ladies! We use your libraries all the time and think you do a great job serving our community! Thanks!

  • OMG That is too funny and so so true! Best PR I've seen in a long time for the support of your local libraries!

  • This is stupid.

  • @Tatertawt24 Yes it is stupid, but that's part of whet makes it awesome! Besides it wasn't supposed to be really serious, It was for fun :)

  • Excellent job!! We are facing cuts in Florida too, can't wait to share this at work tomorrow:)

  • very nice video, funny, and still gets the point across. love it.

  • I love the humor... great way to get the points across - libraries need solid funding, and YES we are alive and kicking and serving our customers!

  • I love CRRL sooo much. And I honestly must say that this is the best video I have ever seen in my life!

  • Great Video, And the librarian is CUTE.....good work our libraries are in dire need of help.

  • I loved the video... it is fun to watch and I know some of the people in it... in fact, got a quick glimpse of my daughter's painting hanging in the Auditorium scene!! Hey... I don't expect anything less from Fredericksburg, VA. THAT TOWN ROCKS!

  • I love the video.

  • Thank you wonderful patrons for all of your support through the slashes! We want to be here- even if we have less materials, less staff, and a busted copier or two :-). Hopefully this video inspires other patrons to vocalize their support for their systems too.

  • I love the library

if anything you put a smile on this teen couniler face

im sure things will get better

  • Love the Benny Hill music. Great video...and spookily familiar to my daily life.

  • Great video, great job. I work in a Library in NY and everything you said was so true!! BTW, we never had a snuggly guy, but we have had page lickers and globe spinners! We will survive...

  • It was a fun and interesting video, and I applaud the work that's gone into it. However, the message that I'm taking from it is that you can slash a library budget, reduce facilities, lay staff off and so on, and it won't make any difference. Clearly NOT what you want people to take from this I assume. The fact is, that with cuts, reduced services etc. libraries WON'T survive & that's the message we need to put across.

  • @PhilbradleyUK Phil, you make a good point - thanks for your thoughtful comment. I was trying to strike a balance between protesting our budget cuts and highlighting our awesome staff and offerings. The star of our video deals with all of these pressures so well because she, like so many other library staff I know, loves her job and loves libraries, but I certainly do not want to give the impression that budget cuts don't have a drastic impact on what we're able to offer. (continued)

  • @crrlvideo ...We have had to close our branches on Sundays, reduce book purchases, and leave staffing vacancies unfilled. Despite all of this, libraries are essential and will SURVIVE.

  • @PhilbradleyUK so long as here is a sense of humour survival is more likely - this is meant to be satirical or ironic (simpler: funny) - there is no wrong message conveyed at all

btw - this is a very small service for a very large area - congratulations!

we librarians can do with a bit of critical opinion , selectiveness, judgment (resources/needs/priorities ...) etc - that is our job - having 'everything' is not what we are paid for

  • Kudos from librarians in NC. Ya'll ROCK!!

  • We're not quite where this video portrays yet, but our library is heading that way. It's a sad commentary on where our society's priorities are these days.

  • All the production values of a Nollywood video. Peace.

  • great editing work, this man (who wrote and directed it) deserves a pay rise for his efforts. Love the sound effects. Has he done any other work, like short films? I'd be interested in seeing them.

And yes, I clicked on this because I'm an information professional.

    chur chur from NZ

  • That was really cute. Good job!

  • Fantastic!

  • My faith, threatened by weeding. has been returned to circulation by this new edition. Once more into the breech, dear friends!

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • AWESOME! What a wonderful and humorous response to a tragic situation. I loved all of it, but the shirtless delivery hunks were hilarious! I only wish I could be there to help at my own library--but almost every library associate was laid off as of June 30. I loved my job. My heart is still breaking.

  • @jsiess - The lady playing the librarian (my wife) does not have her MLS (therefor not a REAL librarian) but has worked for the Headquarters Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library for years.

  • And people think working in a library is dull! Little do they realize. . .

  • Nice waste of taxpayer money, you bunch of commie hippie librarians. Just kidding. This is fantastic! I love libraries and librarians. Keep up the excellent and under-appreciated work you do.

  • That was neat!

    Thanks!

  • Excellent! Creepy Snuggli guy is the best!

  • I have never in my life met a librarian who was that helpful, but this is still pretty great.

  • whoa- over 4,000 hits in four days....

  • WHO is the librarian? is she a REAL librarian? where was it filmed? FANTASTIC!!!

  • WHO is the librarian? is she a REAL librarian?

  • I gotta have that girl in my next movie

  • I volunteer at the Snow Branch every Thursday I love my local libraries

  • Privatize libraries.

  • So great! The copy machine bit was perfect!

  • I am working at Oregon Eugene Public Library, it's a wonderful film, I love it! A+

  • Champion Program... Whoever is behind this deserves a giant raise!

  • I love, love, love our local library! It has a great area for kids (that we recently discovered for our 15-month old) and tons of DVDs...oh, and books, too. I kind of get the "kid in a candy store" feeling whenever we walk in. What will I discover today!

My mom is a librarian, so maybe she instilled a love for libraries in me. Along with rest stops, the Hubble Space Telescope and snow plows, I can think of few better ways to spend tax money other than libraries.

  • Aw, I wish I could have been in this.

  • This is great! Everyone should remember that "libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries." This is a quote by Ann Herbert in The New Whole Earth Collection back in 1980. It is still true today!

  • having seen this i think you will indeed survive.

  • max respect from a Hungarian music library :-)

  • Great job! Keep up the hope. I try to support my library as much as possible. :)

  • What talent! I'm so proud to know ya!

  • This is pretty amazing.

  • best. vid. ever.

  • What talent!
