Gah! I'm so sick of people acting so prestigious when they listen to older music. I hate comments like, 'Oh, this is so much better than the rubbish on the radio today. I love this type of music - and I'm only a teenager!' or whatever. Obviously, everyone at this video likes this kind of music, or they wouldn't have actively searched for it - so you aren't above anyone here. Also, just because you think popular music nowadays is crap, doesn't mean it isn't music. It's just a different kind.
The good ol' days when music was actually music. Even though I'm 23, and haven't been around in those times, I prefer those times way better then today. Life was better then.
It may be poor taste but I am going to do it anyways. I am asking for anyone out there who has extra money to send it via paypal to neil.fingleton@yahoo.com. The money will be put to good use. I just wanted to see if there were any individuals who could spare $5, $100 or whatever to help me out. Surprise me. Again, I make no promises in return. I do not receive any government assistance. I am asking directly from you. I am just asking for your kindness in this project. Email me. Thank you!
dont worry im 13 and i love this kind of songs n i think justin beaber and allthose are crap i searusly do GO OLDIES LOL OLDIES ARE THE BEST.....LMAO=]
i wonder what would happen if this song was re-released as a new song on the radio today. how would this generation of teenagers accept this? you know what i mean, like most of them dont know this song exists so they will think its new. i wonder if they will like it.
This great song was used in John Carpenter's "Christine," which starred a '58 Plymouth. The car was supposed to be Fury, but it was closer to a Belvedere, since the Fury was only available in Buckskin Beige and gold tone trim, not silver.
Either way, both were great wheels and are equally valuable today...
It's funny, I have good memories of doowop like this from my childhood, but I don't belong to that generation, my parents do. The reason it triggers nostalgia with me is that I raided my mom's extensive 45 record collection (I'm glad she really didn't mind, because I effectively destroyed them all with play) and played them as much as she used to.
Now when we hear this, it brings back our youths at once, even though it was 20-ish years apart.

What does "IFIC" stand for? My guess is that the first two letters stand for international feminist, but the last two are a mystery to me.
Kattdrottningen87 2 years ago
One of Bandstand's sponsors was a chewing gum company whose slogan was "Flavorific". Notice how the kids in the audience are chomping away.
aadfw92 2 years ago
I dont know either, but I'll guarantee the first two letters dont stand for international feminist. Are you serious? This was about 1958, you know.
