Amen to Deepak Chopra (around the two minute mark)...I've been saying for years (much to the chagrin of my scientific-minded friends) that the fundamental fallacy of science is the seperation of the observer and what is being studied. This inherently a mystical realization; yet has been "manifested" in the material realm with the dawning of the quantum revelation. A subject whose depth knows no limits, and whose mystery will forever inspire.
there is no such thing as good/evil outside of the human mind.....one cannot exist without the other because it would have no reference point.....evil does not exist, just a missuse of power....we dont call electricity evil because someone got electricuted...so why call any other missuse/missunderstanding of a great power...
Electricity doesn't have a mind of its own as humans do, it gets its power from the generator & never transgresses against the law that it applies to unless by an outside source. Humans make a concious decision to transgress against the law & furthermore to dictate whether they "believe" there even is one. It's true that evil can't exist without good, but not vica versa, because the "good" is life & "evil" is death. If death didn't have life to make it die it wouldn't exist at all.
exactly..we dont genrate gods power, we simply channel and untilise it,it was there before us it had to be else we wouldnt exist, it does exactly what it says on the can, it provides power for "whatever reason" totally unbias its only us "the outside force" that can missuse it, not god not anything else.. life wouldnt be life without without death, it would just be...
only your perspective on the outcome of an action dictates weather its good or bad and good can derive from a bad situation because everything comes with its equal opposite value, so is it really a bad situation or just a situation to be learned from either way...just depends on which side of the coin you focus on more...
I am a Christian, raised as a Catholic. My problem with this whole thing is that all of these arguments being made in favor of Christianity are based off of things that happened 2000 years ago, and most seem happy with literally taking the words in the Bible as God-given, rather than understanding that it had been repeatedly translated, each time being polluted with the transcriber's beliefs. Not much if anything has been done to improve on the Christian understanding over the past 2 centuries
My argument is not against Christ, but against a literal interpretation of the Bible. If you knew anything about ancient texts you would realize that they were written in languages that have been dead for centuries. And if you knew anything about other languages you'd know that a direct translation is only ever an approximation, tainted by the intentions of the transcriber. When we have things like the Spanish Inquisition & Crusades in our past it makes me doubt their intentions as honorable.
No argument with the fact that the bible has been repeatedly transcribed over and over again. However in the old testament, if one mistake was made the transcriber had to start at the beginning. Thus making more work so great care was given to not making mistakes. However in more modern times that practice has been (for the most part) discarded. Hence we have the readers digest bible. The new testament wasn't guarded so carefully though. Giving rise to Private interpretation.
The problem really doesn't have much to do with being careless, more so that any translation loses a bit of the original intent, by being removed from its original context & the fact that there are words that exist in one language that simply do not exist in another or have entirely different meanings. A direct translation is thus not possible, only the best approximation can be made. A choice is involved - answered by someone with a definite bias (usually a monk).
Exist in the solid forms that they are presented in the Bible, they are merely metaphors for something else. These are merely archetypes created for people who didn't understand very much about philosophy. The same with the Torah or any other major religious text. Either they are both telling the truth and both lying, it all really depends on the perspective. You may ask "How can God be lying?" Remember that Lying implies an absolute truth. That is the major argument, which of the two being know the absolute truth. Like I said earlier though, if both creatures are learning beings, then the may in fact both be wrong. Now remember, that when I say these things I say them as an outsider looking in. I don't personally believe that either of these beings...
We can look at it in your perspective and say that God was merely testing Lucifer and his other angels, implying he wanted to learn of the outcome. That then implies that of an imperfect God. One who is constantly learning, but has not yet total knowledge. If that is the case, then he and Lucifer are very much more alike than initially thought to be. They are both learning creatures with opposing viewpoints who simply want to see a favorable outcome. If that's the case, then I can only say that,
I can understand that, what I meant was that not only did he know of the coming rebellion, he orchestrated it and through his own will followed through with his own rebellion. Little abstract I know, but bare with me. What my problem is, is that why should being that have no supposed free will, since their will is Gods, be punished for something that they in turn had no choice in, better said they only had the illusion of choice. Then again we can see it in another light.
My biggest issue with the God theory, is faith. Blind faith at that. I'm supposed stand by as this grand being dictates my actions then punishes me for doing them in the first place. That then begs the question: If God is truly infallible, if he truly knows all, sees all, and dictates all, then he himself orchestrated the rebellion, or at least he already had full knowledge of it's inevitability. I have an issue with someone punishing anyone for that kind of reason.
(i apologize if my answer wasn't clear, but moving along...)
i think that God being infallible yet somehow knowing about a rebellion is a question of His motives. What is this all herer for? It is a testing ground & a furnace for what He wants to form into perfection. The consequenses are shown to us to let us know who's in charge, the testing & chizzling is to form who He chose, to become eligable for Eternal Life. This means anyone who loves something that breaks His law is not valid.
dude it aint that way...lets just say that u have the power of god within you..your thoughts promote ur actions and your actions shape the world, no matter who you are...then it could be said that there is only one source of power and depending on how u utilise that power depends upon who u give thanks to for it..
the power of all is within your thoughs, it must be because everything around you was at first a thought..and if thoughts attract the things you need to create them, then surely you must have to hold the finished product in your mind until completion...hence see all....see it as done and it will be....argue for your limitations and they will be yours to keep...totally infailable...either way...
While I agree with your point that power can lead to evil, I must agree with SoulfulCommute. Evil, in its totality can only be seen as making a conscious effort to do unproductive harm. Might sound a little confusing, but you have to understand that intention, outcome- both immediate and and in the long run, are what define an action as evil. To dumb it down it really is all about intention. I can murder a family, but if in doing that I save a country, I can still be considered evil if I...

The fact that theyd used some americanised crap like this to portray it is offensive to the human genome for gods sake!
