I sucked as spy, so I never used him. Then I got a strange kunai, and I played as spy a lot and got 76 kills in an hour and had a score of 259. My best ever on a server. Your tutorial helped.

I have recently picked up Spy since a few weeks ago and I have gotten way better than before when I have started, lol. Back then, I couldn't even make a single backstab but now I make several with each life.

My real biggest problem right now still is getting at Engineers and their Sentries because usually I cant be fast enough to take down either without being killed. These videos helped me a lot and opened up my mind, though, so thanks.

Here's a few tips:

1) Engineer- Wait at other team's dispenser.

2) Pyro- W+M1 without M1.

3) Heavy- Just waddle forwards towards a medic. It's such a rare disguise due to speed that you are generally ignored.

4) Demoman- Stand around in the enemy base with Grenade launcher out/stand near unattended Sticky fields.

5) Scout- Don't use Scout, you run too slow.

6) Medic- Spawncampimg disguise.

7) Soldier- Around a corner, just away from your team, as though you are waiting for them to walk past.

8) Sniper- Sniper decks only

9) Spy- When you're among teammates.

10) Friendly disguise- Lure enemies into traps. (Try being a "solo medic". It really works! The enemy hunts you down, even into sentry nests.)

it odesnt depend on the kind of knife or clock or gun it just matters in how you use those wepon to your advantege for example chose the wepons that go with your spy way do you scout? then do cloak and dagger do you like tricking the team get the dead ringer do you take down sentrys alot/ get the diamond back and so on

The only thing I think you're missing is an analysis of the disguise kit. What I've noticed is that a lot of players can recognize a spy pretty well based on their behavior, or more accurately, if they're behaving in a way that isn't typical for their class. You might want to consider that; consider stating which disguises are preferred and/or how to accurately pass off yourself as whatever class you're disguised as.

i have a problem that i can't seem to find any advice on. what do you do when there's several lv3 sentries set up in an area, and all their engies are there, all crammed into corners with their stuff all around them where it's impossible to get at their backs? if it's just one and there's no one around i can just sap and shoot, but with a group, the second i start sapping the engies open fire and/or destroy my sappers and i get killed without taking out any of them. this happens A LOT.

I've been playing TF2, spy more specifically, for a long time. I started back when you first uploaded this guide, and this got me to play spy. I've adapted and gotten very good, but it all started because of your guide, and even though this may be outdated, it's still the perfect and most detailed spy guide there is.
