Lol!!! Why walk away? Hell get him turned on to more good (and real) music! My nephew had never heard of these groups or artist like Maysa, Incognito, Soul II Soul, Loose Ends, Sade either. Of course it's a generation gap (he's only 21), but I introduce him to these groups & artist and now he is hooked, just love all this great music.

@MrJuly1990ish It's good you're educating your nephew on good music. However I think you're going a bit easy on him by blaming his musical ignorance on the generation gap. I can think of at least one example of some1 in their early 20s aware of, nay, even a fan of Sade. I'm in my (late) 20s and I most definitely know of them. It just depends on where your antenna is tuned.

There is creating and then there is re-interpreting and Maysa here did an excellent re-interpretation of this song. I agree that we do not have to praise one artist at the expense of another. I am sure that Jhelisa herself, is very proud of this version.

Jhelisa's version is not as smooth as this one. Her drums sounds more programmed and she does not have the dreamy ambience that Maysa has. The beautiful dreamy harmonies of "Don't want to get til the rain begins" are gorgeous....a very deep embodiment of soul. Also this version is capped by a wondrous scat-like chant. Truly a favourite of mine.
