  • do you blame us?? they are leading us into despair

  • goddammit newsreaders are fucking annoyiing

  • its shows, it just shows

  • CNN paints a picture that it is bad distrust in government when there is democrats in power. But trust in government is dangerous when republicans are in power. Their liberal bias is so obvious.

  • I'm surprised that 23% trust this crooked government. I trust it about as far as I can pick it up and throw it.

  • God help the other 23%

  • SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!

  • A fluffy segment for what could be summed up in a news ticker

  • Are you kidding me?! 23% of Americans are that foolish. I suppose they believe the single bullet theory too.

  • Okay first off.. this was pure opinion. Second off, this was clearly corporatist propaganda. Third off, this comes from a wall street journal poll so.. screw it. Fourth off, this is one poll. Without showing the results of all the other recent polls, along with any other polls done by other organizations, it is nothing but pure noise. A bad bit of noise but still noise.

  • What a stupid report.

  • ah, duh.... after 8 years of bush-cheneny, the most untrustworthy administration since nixon, yah think?

  • They only found out about about this?

  • Of COURSE DISTRUSTING GOVERNMENT IS GOOD! IT"S ABSOLUTELY NESSASARY TO MAINTAIN DEMOCRACY! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU LEARN ABOUT HOW DEMOCRACY WORKS?!

  • Small government = Big corporations

  • This "big government" you seem to celebrate promotes "big corporations" as you say. Since the impossibly expensive and complicated regulations they impose make it a barrier of entry into the market for competitors, therefore corporations become monopolies controlled by the state, paying off bureaucrats through lobbies so as to shelve laws that could damage the company... it's called corporatism and is a central tenet of "big government" absolutism, from socialism to fascism alike.

  • You know that in 100 years people will learn in history books about natzy America, comiting geneocide under the lable of FREEDOM.

  • It's spelled "Nazi" and it's an acronym for "national socialism" in German... in other words the very progressive-era corporatism championed by Reed-Pelosi-Obama that you seem to champion to your own demise.

  • CNN Should play catch up with Fox as the mistrust can be explained with the later. Governments watchdog is the media and I see they have a leash on it.

  • This big, oppressive, one size fits all, bureaucrat take-over of every conceivable aspect of our lives, while burying us under a mountain of debt and taxes to fund irresponsible leftist agendas and reckless right-wing wars, this government take-over is about as tyrannical, regressive and out of touch with what the American people as it gets...

Government is the problem, it corrupts and it tends to make politicians pursue their own best interests despite the wishes of the people, get it lefties?

  • USA4July1776 government is not the problem, coruption is the problem.

Government should be big and transparent.

  • Big government and transparency are a contradiction of terms, they are polar-opposites, just like liberty and equality of outcome, the two cannot co-exist.

Go back to Marcus Aurelius to know the true nature of the thing we are talking about. What drives government, despite all the moral principles they espouse for marketing purposes, is raw power and control. Just like what drives companies is profit. It's their existential purpose. The left is dragging us back to pre-enlightenment feudalism.

  • the positive side of mistrust? at 2:45 fewer foreign wars? not so.. the U.S is in two right now. less expensive government programs? not so.. health care reform passed easily after a 100 year fight to prevent it. less civil liberties violations? not so.. the patriot act has not been repealed. so everything that guy said is a lie.

  • CNN is split in two. We just saw the anti American conservative side of CNN, hope they burn in hell alongside CEO's.

  • Why do you think conservative is anti-american????? There are members of the administration who feel the revolution in Venezuela was good. you think Chavez is good?

  • CNN, please stop saying "just sayin"

  • I don't trust government, because just look at history. It's not that I don't trust any one administration, but again just look at our history they lie all the time!

And yes, Vietnam IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE!

  • this is caused by people not try to be educated about goverment

  • People don't trust the government because they don't know much about government. The average american couldn't tell you what the government does.

  • Leftist arrogant prick... you're the one who has no clue, dip shit!

  • Vietnam was EIsenhowers mess. Kennedy wanted out but was shot before could make that decision. Lyndon extened it to a war. Nixon extended it into cambodia. Congress stopped it because the people rebelled.

  • We lower class people never trusted the government, now that the middle class is catigorized with us, and that upper class has lost their aliance with the government, now they think its a big deal.

  • Cynicism my ass! It's called CRITICAL THINKING, and it's long overdue. How dare CNN spin the obvious into cynicism. We're fed up with our non-representative government and the lies that media whores are now famous for spewing. We're mad as hell and we're not takin' it anymore!

  • I'm skeptical of any Government but I never, ever trust media, especially cable news media.

  • Government of the people by the people and they don't trust it kind of silly.

  • Considering that (less military, active, reserve, retired and veterans) about five or six percent of the government is US, so it's a division in the minds of non-government workers that government is ~?somehow?~ not US.

Weird notion? Not really... Timothy McVeigh & Co., were pretty well convinced they were doing the right thing. Who (in media) supports that way of thinking? Fox News, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Lou Dobbs, etc., etc., etc.

  • The thing that is most alarming about this is many of the people who have no trust in the government are advocating the government rule one of the most important aspects of their life.....Health Care!?!?!?

  • I support health care reform and the public option.

  • As do I...

at least more so then health insurance CEO's

  • Wow that high?

  • The 23 must be from the welfair rolls.

  • Find out the truth!!!!!!!!! search for;

    "Fall of the Republic"

    Before it's too late

  • Great documentary!!

  • I trust the government.

    "Change" is on the way

  • just sayin.....

  • next time do a poll " do you trust main stream media"

  • I saw one a couple of months back and it was near the same number that didn't.

HOPE in one hand, BUSH in the other.

I hope we can get some change we can believe in soon.

  • To trust a two party system hmm..

  • That works 100%

    64% of the Time

  • puppet president puppet congress puppet government...

  • Where do they take these polls at? On house phones cause most don't even have those anymore.

  • Cato is libertarian not conservative Borger, get your shit straight when you report dumbass

  • haahahahah...

  • Does CNN think that their audience is retarded?

  • being wary of the government is the american way

  • lol internet

  • A government is always as good as the people. I guess you get what you pay for.

  • So she asks the internet about trust and expect a friendly response?

    ...hahahaha.
