Anyone who thinks Shaun White was disrespectful for playing the air guitar at the end of the national anthem has something wrong with their brain. Shaun is proud of winning the gold medal for the USA, and the joy of winning a gold medal is a feeling few can imagine. For those idiots who think he was disrespectful, did they happen to notice he had his hand on his heart before and after the air guitar. I watched it on NBC and it was the highlight of the night for me. I was serving in the Army when the Hendrix performance at Woodstock was making the rounds. It was a nice tribute to those days. Shaun White's little take was spontaneous, in the moment, and great fun. This has been the most enjoyable Olympics since I was young - less jingoistic, more Olympic spirit, and athletes who are free spirits. That, to me, is real patriotism. They win too.
