The little insect is been making an effort to be a butterfly and this consistent struggling makes me feel ashamed of myself for some reason. It's really beautiful, I just realized that I'm also included in life which I have to be thankful. I'm watching this video over and over. It makes me think in many ways. Thanks for uploading this.
i am nursing one pupa inside right now, one outside on the porch, soon it will become a butterfly, i wish more people cared about insects and wild life like mean and didnt kill them
Thank you for the wonderful video. I encourage all gardeners to plant milkweed in their gardens to attract the Monarch but remember that every part of the plant is poisonous, including the milky juice the drips out when cut. It this juice gets in your eyes it can make you blind! So....be careful and make sure any children playing in your yard know this. Keep pets from eating it, as well.
This is so beautiful, My Aunt died this week..... 21/6/11....and the picture at the back of her hospital bed was off a butterfly. It makes me believe that she is now just moving on to her next journey in life until our final meeting place. I will hold her very close to my heart until such time when we meet again. Love you so much xxx
I have tons of caterpillars on a bush at the back of my house. For some reason they are now heading towards the couch outside and have been chewing grooves into it. I take them back to the bush a few times a day but they still insist on going for the couch so I've had to take the couch indoors. Anyone know what they are doing and why they are doing this? Thanks.
I love this video! It's very educational. I use it to share with my niece the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. It's fascinating to her. Thanks for sharing it with all of us online!
We have raised monarchs two of the last three years. All we do is go out and look for the little caterpillars, put them in a box, feed them fresh milk weed every day. And wait. It is an AMAZING process! The real life colors are totally awsome.
One of the years we raised over 90 butterflies. It is a good experience for children.
After reading about the metamorphosis and not quite getting it, your beautiful film brought it all together. I plan to be in Michoacan before they take off. Will also plant more Asclepias here at home!
Thank you for a superb production. I was in Morelia Mexico earlier this year with my 14 year old grandson and witnessed the remarkable explosion of Monarch butterflies. I am preparing a keynote presentation for my wifes garden club and hope to be able to include your You Tube video.
This is great I was trying to figure out how to make a decent video of the cycle but I will concentrate on the still picture power point and use you video for the kids. Thank you for sharing you have a great talent.
This is the best video! I wanted something to use for my students. I can't believe the detail this video shows....it is perfect to teach the life cycle. Thank you for sharing your talent!

Hi,
During their life cycle, do they remember about their past like they had eaten leaves at a time etc. Do, they have memories?

Still, very interesting. I used to raise these when I was little.
