If you are not impressed by fame, and you sincerely interested in music that is quality. Come to my site and discover an artist who has no connections to rich people who is experimental, original, progressive and doesn't sound like anyone at all.
@jacopo1161 she is still around, unfortunately if you don't have music to cater to the idiotic masses they don't play you on the radio, her latest cd is yet to be released
she is just pouring her soul out...she left out the part about being deeply disturbed by her rape and tring to put it in her past, probrably because it would have made her cry, such a remarkable artist, one of my all time favorites :')
I don't agree. All depressed people around the world would be highly inspired then. The fact is: she's very talented. If she had lived a perfect happy life without any tragic event she would still write great songs. Depression is the oposite of inspiration, believe me. But, on the other hand, creating music is a form of fighting depression, I guess.
I've gone through a myriad of artists and albums and songs over the years. I got this album fifteen years ago, barely a teenager at the time. While every other album and artist has faded away from me in that time, Fiona Apple has resounded and persisted.
I have absolutely no doubt that I will listen to this song and the rest of Fiona Apple's work for the rest of my life.
When I die I want to come back as the scent of a jasmine flower in fiona`s garden. On a warm Summers evening as Fiona watches the slowly sinking sun,she may just breathe me in and I would have my Heaven.
When I die I want to come back as the scent of a jasmine flower in fiona`s garden. On a warm Summers evening as Fiona watches the slowly sinking sun,she may just breathe me in and I would have my Heaven.
I almost cried when I read her story, and her music can have the same effect. Shes amazing, talented, strong, and beautiful. She has the most amazing eyes I've ever seen. Just looking into her eyes, you feel like you are seeing her soul.
i can't believe i forgot about this girl. she is SO unbelievable. she got me through my nana's death and the rebirth of my relationship with my mom. i had Sleep To Dream CRANKED while I was drawing and my mom snuck up on me and told me to "keep it up". A huge moment for me. Funny though, I never kept drawing and thiis was a LONG TIME ago...
We're all somewhat unaccessable. And, that's why, as Dar Williams and others put it," we're all born and die alone." Or, well, that's a paraphrase... But, a truism we don't like to admit to ourselves.
i am very young im not even 18 nor 16 nor 15. and fiona apple i love you,im 14 and no one knows who you are because i know what real music is.your my favorite artist!!! and always will be<3
Fiona is amazing. I have been a huge fan ever since i heard "Criminal". Her lyrics are truly poetic and some of the best of her time. I think only John Lennon could write better. She's one of the few artists left that sounds as good or better live as with the CD. She adds so much charisma to her performances and truly speaks from the heart. Can't wait for her album in 2011, I'll be one of the first people in line.
I always felt that she has the talent to articulate exactly what so many of us go through. im a writer myself. i can pull hundreds of songs from one relationship. they are simply different expressions, and music gives us the freedom to explore those expressions as deep as they can go, however true the depth is. sometimes its not all true either. sometimes the song just sort of takes on its own direction. all fionna is doing is allowing her creativity to move. =)

jesus.. really? You have to be either a young dike or an old dike. fiona apple doesn't lick slits and she hates compliments from random fat whores. You know about as much about fiona as u know about weeds. U are ugly and old and boring and u need to stop trying to put words together. U bore the FUCK out of me and probably many others.
it's crazy how much her voice matured between here and the cd recording. well i guess in the three your gap between the studio recording and here it deepened a lot.
This poet bleeds for the sake of her art. She goes deep to express what is in her heart and she is one of those rare souls that is able to make us feel it. I try to understand what she is saying and sometimes I think I do but sadly I often feel that she is crying out that she is hurting. Fiona has her own demons to deal with and although we all want to ease her pain all we can really do is let her share it with us and when she does some of our own pain is understood. That's why we love her.
Call me an overly emotional man, but damn, this song makes my eyes tear up nearly every time... She has so much talent, and this is a live performance.
she makes me feel better when i realize that from day one ive had the worst fuckin luck in the world. its like murphys law took a special interest in me, but in a sad, pathetic sort of way, not a funny jessica alba comedy way.
this song is so beautiful. All I can say is that, I understand. No matter how much you think someone will understand what you've been through, you don't want them to put themselves out there in fear that what they'll eventually see, will make a liar out of them and they'll turn away from you.
that was the most intense performance i have ever seen. she is beyond talented you can't possibly say that you can't feel her pain and anger. She's so relatable the agnst that we all feel at one point or another is the essence of this song and i love it because it's beautiful all the same. My only problem with this performance is that i wish she hadn't dressed like a hobo although i love the way her hair is put up and the headress.
So amazing. You know it's REAL music when someone cries, gets angry, or goes crazy singing it live. Here she does all 3. It's like...understandable. It's soul. You see who she is and what she's been through. I feel the sadness. I love it so much though. Her singing style is like no other. Most emotion I've seen in any singer really. Besides Amy Winehouse as well.
Wow she was really pissed at someone midway, she was sending the vibe out to somebody. Best performance seen her do yet, now thats raw emotion. Bravo!!!
