Absolutely. People may dismiss it because it's a remake and those are generally frowned upon because they usually always suck, at least they do these days. But this is one of the few remakes that kicked fucking ass. Love this flick.

You make a good point. I loved John Carpenter's The Thing. Loved Jeff Goldblum in The Fly. Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Blob were great too (that started my eternal crush on Shawnee Smith). I hated the remake of Dawn of the Dead, liked The Ring (somewhat), and haven't seen the remakes of the others you mentioned, but did enjoy the originals. Although Let Me In, haven't seen the remake or original, so I can't judge either.

The Hills Have Eyes is an awesome and gory as hell remake co-written and produced by Wes Craven, check it out. Let Me In is an American remake of Let The Right One In. What about Invaders from Mars, Cat People, PJ's King Kong, Toolbox Murders from Tobe Hooper, 2001 Maniacs, Halloween and Piranha 3D or I Spit on Your Grave?
