  • @HeavyMetalSocialist i wasnt calling them shit i just use that word alot when i talk ha.

  • Top band, top tune, top video, thanks for posting

  • Alex Lifeson said that this was his favorite song to play live for the technical aspect of it. i saw it 8 times .....Rush nailed it!

  • MY FAVORITE RUSH SONG OF ALL TIME!!! PEART RIPPED THIS ONE LIKE I DON,T KNOW WHAT?! 2112 ALL THE WORLDS A STAGE!!! THANKS FOR GIVING A TRUE RUSH CLASSIC SOME PROPER DUE..3 GUYS THAT SOUNDED LIKE 5!!

  • It is taking some time, but in the end, (another great rush song by the way)

  • I think maybe..when it comes to these three individuals and their music..there is more going on than meets the eye..an underlying theme:)

  • Look people, there`s no point in blaming the state of the music industry nowadays. There IS good music today and (i hope) there will aways be. Just because it`s not in the mainstream media doesn´t mean it do not exist. Dig it up, man. It´s been aways like this, or do you think REAL BANDS LIKE RUSH have ever been in the spotlight, or will ever be?

  • One of the most important songs in history.

  • oh by the way, amazing fucking video

  • who knew when this song was written, that it was a chilling foreshadowing of of what the world was going to be like in in 2008 and beyond...

    especially this part:

    Computerized clinic

    For superior cynics

Who dance to a synthetic band.

    In their own image,

    Their world is fashioned.

    No wonder they don't understand.

  • Absolutely brilliant! What a job putting this in sync and portraying a great song as it was wrote, as well as performed. 'By RUSH' Opinions on some timely matter may challenge you but it is what it is.

  • nice video, suits the song well.

  • grandconjunct is up for target practice. this is global, not left or right. hell both sides pander to "business" and frankly "grandconjunct" we don't see you using your real name. singularityrush, you have captured the essence and message in a eye opening beautiful way. even a 6 year old child would now understand this and in the near future, that may be very important. please keep doing this type of art.

  • who besides Rush can wrote a song about natural science and make it sound awsome?

  • thank you for this

  • top notch. a perfect fusion. compliments and regards. thank you. made a beautifull song, a bunch more beautifull.

  • thanks for taking the time to give us a great video to watch to go along with this great music... I know the time it takes to clip and put all this stuff together

  • Very interesting video to go along with such a fantastic song.

  • great job, I now see this song in a better light,,,,thanks

  • pretty neat! one of my favourite Rush songs.

  • I enjoyed that!... and I have looked in my minds eye at this song, and we have similar visions I see :)

  • Bravo singularityrush. Well done!

  • I love the whole album! I got the original record too!

  • "Generally smart?" How about "specifically trite?"

    Science or "world players?"

Not political? It's just a question of your honesty. Yeah, your honesty.

  • Each microcosmic planet...

    A complete society...

  • Great job!! Kicks ass! :)

  • very nice production dude...really appreciate the effort !!

  • ...science like nature, must also be tamed...the most endangered species, the honest man...

I love Rush!!! This is my favorite Rush song without question!

  • Wow what a wonderful video! THANK'S FOR SHARING!

  • Yes, a coll and complete Quaanntuum singularity!!!!!!!! Hodie. Lets say the day that Oliver Wakeman and Benoit David approached the stage.

wheels 2010 random cyclops Alan White whodat Bill Bruford typist Narcissm to BoHemnatoab Leap

  • Inspired

  • great song. shitty video.

  • The truth sometimes hurts a bit.

  • Wow...this is just one of many of their legendary songs...and in some parts with some of those photos I had to fight back tears...

  • Universal wisdom, in a world of insanity.

  • Very impressed with your video/interpetation of these lyrics & song.

    5*'s!

  • shit sorry people led zeppelin, black sabbath all them are great but rush just takes rock to a new level there just amazing i wish more people relized that, and i was people recongnized them for there greatest songs, not fuckin tom sawyer and YYZ n shit

  • Actually, ALL of their music is outstanding, and in a realm of it's own.

    (no disrespect meant)

    One World ~ One Love

  • yea i know, like 2112, hemispheres, la villa strangiato, there amazing

  • rightfully said

tom sawyer and yyz isnt wat rush is all about

thats just wat songs people that know nothing about rush listen too (and only those songs)

  • @nosamcuminhand1 Honestly you should won an award for the best comment ever, I been searching for a comment like this in a long time I am really happy to find real Rush fans and not posers, who only care not only from YYZ and Tom Sawyer, but the whole moving pictures like was their only great album... (sorry for my bad english) RUSH rules lml

  • @nosamcuminhand1 i was 15 when i posted this.... and rush is stil my favorite and the best band ever!

  • wow i just created an account to say how awsome this was fuck Rush is awsome, pure genius

  • awesome video!!! ;) well done!!! have always loved this song! Rush are truly my heroes! have been following them since 1981. i used to be in a band back in the late 80's-early 90's that used to do this song! not an easy one to reproduce! ha!!

  • Great song. Funny, but your interpretations are in polar opposition to mine--especially regarding the climate change images you include. When I listen to Natural Science, the lyrics are strong in refuting a blind discipleship to this junk science.

  • treMEnda cancion mejorarla es hacerle nada

  • video well done, props to you dude, Rush lyrics are incredible, if you listen to all their songs they are truly prophetic better than the bible.

  • A pattern so grand and complex...

Outstanding video, put to a masterpiece of music.

  • It is A Very Touching and Moving mini Masterpiece

  • very good Compliment to the Song.Video .. Then I thought in time I was Thinking We need..To See A great Tsunami wave Picture,,..(humor) ..very well Done...Big Rush Fan...Keep up the good work...I Wonder How Many real Tsunami Pictures are out there...Awesome Song...Awesome Video...cheers

  • beautiful

  • i saw rush in VA last summer and they played this. was fucking awsome

  • wow I forgot how awesome this song is.. I haven't heard this in 15 years..

  • we really need to stop screwing around here. if we ever want to meet anyone else in the universe we should probably clean up a bit and make our house welcoming.

  • HOLY FUCK THANK YOU

That was an incredible rendition. Quite possibly my favorite Rush song (I have several dozen), and you put it to excellent video.

    My hat is off!

  • almost what i saw,

    well done!!!

  • Well if you download Google Earth, you can switch the map to the 1940's, and change it back to 2009. If you look at the North Pole, almost all the glaciers up there are gone. Anyways, yeah great song!!!

  • i don't think Global Warming is fake, but it definitely exaggerated. I mean of course CO2 is doing something, but the earth is always changing.

  • CFC's actually helped the atmosphere. CO2 also helps, did you know that humans do not make but like 6% of what nature makes. CO2 also helps the greenhouse which makes us warmer and keeps out unhealthy, toxic gas from space. just some facts.

  • it is fake, the earth does this periodically, look at the charts.

  • its actually CO (carbon monoxide) that is fucking up our world. CO2 is a waste product from your own body.

  • awesome song rush rocks !

  • I think this is the best song off of "permanent waves"

  • NOOOOO!!!!! Jacob's Ladder is!!!!

  • awesome video singularityrush. to me one of the greatest songs ever recorded. cant wait for your next video

  • Best.

    Song.

    Ever.

    Written.

When you hear those powerful closing chords, you know you've just heard something special.

  • Rush...rock music for the thinking man!!

  • well put

  • Indeed.

  • i first heard this song live on the s&a tour. back then i didn't own permanent waves yet. i was in the seventh row. my jaw literally dropped when i heard this song. i was like.....god i love this band.

  • Jaw dropping is right. Not to sound too far out, but for the last 30 years their music is one of the things that has actually kept me alive.

    They're so awsome I can't even explain.

  • Excellent song,excellent band ;)

    Rush fuckin RULE

  • i think the line "wheels within wheels, in a spiral array, a pattern so grand and complex" is meant to describe the miracle of DNA

  • Abosolutely man... Thankx so much for pointing that out. I can't help but to think of this song every time I'm sitting near water and contemplate the infinite. It's great. the song is BEYOND PERFECTION ! Once you have heard it , it really sticks wit you.

  • it could describe many things i think, like a galaxy. the wheels include suns and planets, and the spiral array would be a spiral galaxy. also, it could be a clock, symbolizing time. as in the line "our causes can't see their effects"

  • im using these lyrics for a photoshop project where we have to create a "digital metaphor"

science like nature, must also be tamed

  • Unfortunately that's a simile.

  • ah well, its all good

  • ;P

I've used rush quotes in a lot of my school work.

  • me too!

  • cool pistures, man. this is such a cool song.

you guys should realize that the message of the song is important but the actual music is too. just concentrae on how talented rush is

  • it's a decent video, but I can't get over the global warming images. global warming isn't all we should be worried about. we should worry about saving people with malaria in 3rd world countries. and what was with the muslim/sikh picture? r u prejudiced?

  • too bad global warming is a hoax.

  • nice call =)

  • this r teh good songz on that album besides freewill and spirit of the radio

  • great video...like the images & editing.

  • Oh god damn! With those images, you had me, then you lost me. I don't think this song is about such horror.

  • what does mc donalds have too do with this lol

    great video though

  • whered u get these photos/images

  • hiya scott :-), great job! i love this song and the way you oerform it with the wonder-full pics :-). well...the holy trinity geddy, alex and neil are simply the best.they are all genius! neil´s lyrics are always too good for the mainstream. for sure...he is still a visionary... to my mind ;-)

    nice to meet you here

    best regards...from a german rushfan!

  • This is my favourite rush song. I think you did a very good job in the combination of lyrics and images. An as you said, everything is left to our interpretation. Really enjoyed it.

  • or maybe you're not reading far enough into it

  • I have been converted from the other video I had been watching for this, my favorite song by Rush. Thank YOU!!!!!

  • I don't understand why Neil isn't as famous as he should be: he's incredibly smart, he's one of the best lyricists ever, and the best drummer ever. I'm thinking he's too good for the mainstream.

  • Anyone notice that Ed Lorenz died yesterday? While more a reference to the double Helix than the butterfly effect, the following lines always reminded me of the Butterfly Effect and the Lorenz Attractor:

"wheels within wheels in a spiral array,

a pattern so grand and complex...

time after time we lose sight of the way...

our causes can't see their effects"

  • Actually those lines seem like a genius blend of the Double Helix with the Butterfly Effect and Chaos Theory.

  • But if ur gonna throw bush in there, you mixed him in with the right group....

  • Point taken about the politics, but keep in mind that I did this based on my own interpretation. I didn't place Bush in there to be compared nor contrasted with anyone--these are just the major players in world events. That's my point.

  • @singularityrush Last time I heard this was 15 years ago, thanks for posting and nice editing.

  • @singularityrush

What a GREAT Job you did. I am a Rickenbacker 4001 player since 1979 in High School and first learned Natural Science in the early 80's. I have a SPECIAL place in my ear for this song & rarely even attempt to share it w/people because of it's length. How great a job you did on this.

Also, as a Ayn Rand Libertarian Conservative (2112), I am so glad you left out the Bush bashing and his image is as it should be, merely contemporary with your work. -Ron

  • I dont care about the politics. I just dont need to be lookin at bush's mug while im listening to a masterpiece. Hasnt the FuMo dont enough?

  • Neil has been quoted in Harvard philosophy books..

  • His lyrics are only part of it--it's also his concepts. It's like he's thinking what you're thinking, but a whole lot harder.

  • YES! I agree 100%..

    He's a deep and sincere thinker..LOL

  • I'd say that half his audience is up to 80%..Have not seen the latest poll's on Bush's popularity..This the best video for this song ..Nice job!

  • Damn, I think anyone can relate to these lyrics!

  • Wow that must have taken a lot of work !

I wish you hadnt got so political by showing

pictures of Bush with mass murderers then

i could have favorited this masterpiece why

    exclude half your audience ?

  • That's not the message I was trying to send. It's, to me, about what's going on in the world. Not meant to be "political," but more global and aware the major players.

  • For the "generally smart." I got a kick out of that.

The irony is that it's all so "specifically trite."

The global apolitical science of major world players. Doesn't quite gel.

  • Why do Extremist Christians defend Bush so much? He's not a Saint, man!

  • Leftist extremist think if you dont agree with

assocaiating Bush with tbe biggest mass murderers of all time than your defending bush ???? and your also an extremist for questioning the association ?? only a biggot on the same level as slave traders would look at my channel see im a christian , then try and say thats why i cant see the logic of associating bush with mass murderers.

    your a clown pjmoose.

  • a clown, grandconjunct, honesty come on say uh like dumbass

  • @grandconjunct seems to me you excluded yourself from this... not very open minded... but the left never is

  • Of all Rush's songs.....I've alway indentified with these lyrics the most. Nice job on the vid....gotta say , I was making my own slideshow set to "Far Cry"..and you used many of the same (exact) pictures I'm gonna use..lol , seriously...it's uncanny. Then again I shouldn't be too suprised...we're Rush fans.

  • Good point. I've also had Far Cry sitting in my software program, waiting to be finished. Getting the pictures so precisely married to the beat is even harder on that one than on Nat Science, so I haven't finished it.

  • Yeah it is tough.

  • ok so i read the lyrics and now i can understand how science lovers and what-not can like this a lot. very well put together video. thanx

  • :) You got me thinking about it, on my way to work. What I wrote was misleading, in a way, but it wasn't meant to be. Rush fans tend to be very brainy, so I made the quick association. I'll think of a better way to phrase it and make the edit. Also, kudos to you for actually delving further by seeking the information when drawing a conclusion. More people need to do that, IMO.

  • for science lovers???? (in about this vid)

more like for rush lovers :P

  • Fair enough. It's about comparing biology, ecology, and astronomy, with sociology. Layers, perception. Every Rush fan I know (hundreds) has at least an interest in science, if not a deep affinity for it. Continue to pursue your science endeavors and, in the meantime, watch the entire video.

  • OMG that is amazing! Your timing is impeccable. It's like choreography.

  • Try choreographing dance steps to Rush! Doh!

  • I think this is the closest thing you could get.
