They would have done better back then to stop worrying about people getting turned on by nude photos and instead to tackle a real problem such as pedaphiles raping children. In the 60's 100's of priests raped 1000's of children and got away with it because people didn't understand the problem, didn't believe children when they complained, and gave too much respect to authority figures like priests.

There was a similar attack on The Beatles by several right-wing conservative groups in the mid-'60s, who claimed THEY had ties to "Communism", and that their music was "brainwashing" young people...
