But that administrations long term strategy, if you can look past the next 20 years or so, I think there will be great progress made in helping Afghanistan & Iraq in moving forward and becoming a part of the world, rather than it's backyard where people go to do whatever they want, a wild west of the planet for example. Valerie Plame tried to impose her will on the entire country. Her job is to report the information to the President in an accurate and timely fashion - not create policy - then HE decides. She tried to use her husband to give Bush the middle finger, so they outed her ass. Even at the beginning of this interview she proves this. Then when asked point blank about it, she displays every trait of a liar - blink blink blink, shift etc. from 1:25 - 1:35.

I was in America in the days after the 9/11 attacks, and I believe if Bush hadn't gone to war there might have been a public uprising - and he never would've gotten re-elected! Joe can have whatever opinion he wants, but he could have been more careful. Watch his interviews, how antagonistic and obnoxious he is. If you want to blame, blame Saddam Hussein for not letting the US in to search for weapons of mass destruction. In Iraq, I think it was too risky to have the chance looming that Saddam had big guns! Not true. Americans wanted justice, and we got it. We found out that Afghanistan was to blame. We were fully justified to remove the Taliban from power in Afghanistan.
We went into Iraq because Bush told us Iraq has WMD and had plans on using them against us. Now we know he was wrong. What I would like to know is this: Why aren't more Americans demanding the Bush be brought up on charges for taking us into war with Iraq unnecessarily?

I have and they show no justification for a call of insurection. Her husban was employeed by the US government to conduct field research, this research had not been declassified at the time he published it in a newpaper, therefore he violated an established law and he should be punished. 1) She had 2 young children. No mother with young children is going to want to be a part of covert missions that could lead to significant time away from home or danger. 2) She has made more money since she left the CIA than she would have by staying. She has had tons of opportunities to capitalize on this; book deals, etc., etc. When the government does something as hideous as this, it tends to overshadow motives for exposing it. I actually voted for George Bush in his election against Gore, however after seeing what he was doing to us by invading a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 I did not vote for him in the second election. I even changed my party from Republican to Democrat.

So my question is what about Osama Bin Laden, why have we not put the adequate amount of troops in Afghanistan like we should have? Because they are all in Iraq. Al-Qaeda was not even in Iraq until we went there. Bush is a terrible President and he should be ashamed of his self. He has even shown Americas weakness by stretching our military so thin that we couldn't respond to this new Georgian/Russia conflict even if we wanted too. Bush must go!

As proper citizens of a republic we must abide by the rules and allow Bush to finish out his term. The ONLY PROPER way to change anything in a govenment like ours is to vote for those candidates who share our views. In the 2004 Presidental electrion the majority of american citizens voted for Bush and you must wait till the next election to change anything.

couric deserves the benefit of the doubt here. she's really got to play devil's advocate if she's going to make an interesting feature out of an interview that would naturally be too sympathetic. she could have sat there and nodded along with Plame or she could have played devil's advocate and baited someone who is relatively unused to interviewing and managed to make good tv in the process. i'm no couric acolyte, but i get good tv.

A brief history lesson will show that President Abrahm Lincoln's act during the American Civil War where far more "unconstitutional" than anyhting the Bush administration has done. Furthermore the president has the right to commute or pardon ANY criminal as established by the constitution. For what crimes do you then plan to impeach him with?

But that is the truth, during the American Civil War President Abrahm Lincoln not only suspended the Maryland state government but also suspended the right to vote in Maryland. Lincoln is now viewed as one the the best presidents for his actions but it should be noted that at the time they where very unpopular.

By all accounts, the Bush adminstration deceived us to make the case for the war in Iraq. Worse, once it became clear that the runup to the war was fake, this wonderful leader had the gall to blame the CIA for poor intelligence when, in fact, they CLEARLY warned that the information being relied upon by the White House was NOT credible. If you need to ask what crime, then you are too biased to listen, but just in case, ONE crime is taking this country to war under false pretenses.

Prsident Bush did take us to war on false pretense as did President Johnson in Vietnam. as did President McKinnley in the Spanish AMerican war, as did President Polk in the Mexican American war, et cetera. I willingly admitt that I DO NOT agree with this administrations decision to invade Iraq, however I wish to inform citizens that there is no law of which I am aware of regarding this situation and therefore the senate is unable to bring an impeachment.

Bush administration did not lie. They were brutally honest with facts. Saddam told the UN to go fuck themselves when asked to prove he had disarmed or didnt have nuclear programs. Us fighting a war with Iraq (possibly with nukes) to our back would of been suicide and criminal to the operators in Afghanistan. The decision to go to war right. People need to grow up and realize some things are inevitable.

Give me a break. Of course they lied. They wanted to attack Iraq from the day they took office and were looking for ANY pretext to justity this action. At one point, they even tried to connect Saddam to 911. They manipulated the evidence to suit their needs and then blamed the CIA when their charade was revealed. This war was wrong on many levels, but it is inevitable that there are some people who wont accept the truth even at this stage.
