I highly doubt this new AWK is a different guy, but he has certainly changed. Even just the music. Before he sang with a heavy metal growl, and in his new music he sings with clear vocals. I think he just stopped working out, and toned down the metal element in his music. And he keeps screwing with our heads about the conspiracies, too saying stuff like he auditioned to be Andrew W.K. and it was created by a large group of people.

Who gives a shit? He's awesome regardless!

If I'm not mistaken, he's recently admitted to this. Like, he made the music and everything, but he was like hired or something to be Andrew WK. He claims that he's very different from the Andrew W.K we know. But...

He's the same guy, this is stupid, it's like if we all started saying Eminem has a clone too! because if you look into it, his appaerance changed a lot aswell, and it made a lot of noise in the media.

If you want to watch videos to compare the two Andrew WK's there are plently on youtube of the first guy like videos of FF4. The guy on stage in those videos looks, sounds, and acts nothing like the guy in recent videos.

But, again, that was never enough for me to believe they were two seperate people and I just assumed he changed in personality and stopped working out and so on. But now he's literally come out on video fully confessing that he's not the guy from I Get Wet.

I did some research on it, and it is the same guy dude...

compare music videos, old fotos, hell even fotos of the band he was in when he was a boy, Pterodactus or whatever it's called, it's the same guy.

same facial expressions, there's nothing different at all, except he lost his muscle, that happens to anyone..

Okay, I'm gonna be honest, I was totally where you are, but Andrew WK pretty recently came out and said that "Andrew WK" is a character made by a committee of people and that he's actually the second actor to be playing him and not the same guy from the I Get Wet album. Anyway, if you google "RockFeedback Andrew WK" there's a lengthy video of him talking about it. I'm not eally sure how I feel about the whole thing yet.

i love the I Get Wet album, and it kind of kills it a bit to know its not the same person from that, but its kinda like when i saw KISS in '09, even though Ace and Peter weren't in the band you can kindof get past it and just have a good time anyway

I do agree. There was definitely a good reason that they had to create a persona to go with the music in the first place. Now that you brought up KISS, half of the draw to KISS is the amazing live shows, and half the draw to Andrew WK was this super enthusiastic, multi-talented party man. It doesn't make the I Get Wet album any less amazing musically, but it kind of spoils the experience you got listening to it.

Between the two "Andrew WK's " I defintely prefer the first one. No comparison.

I get what he means. People didn't realize he changed his look up a bit/interpreted his personality different and started calling him fake. I get the impression that he kind of went with it after that and almost played it up even more to get people talking. I don't think there's more than one AWK. PARTY HARD!

I met the guy at a gig in Dublin (which totally rocked eight kinds of awesome). The man in this video IS NOT HIM! IT'S HIS BROTHER! That's what the guy I met at the gig said.
