Hiphop at its raw. The video, the taggings on the walls, the street corners, the grittiness, guru, the turntables, and most importantly the LYRICS! I was such a fan of this woman. To this day she is still one of the most respected heads in hip hop legacy.
@fdsaks... that's real. Heads these days think you have to sound like some other pop artist (lil Wayne cough) before you get cred. Whatever happened to originality? In the you end you can't blame young hedz. If shit is all you see and smell, eventually you start believing that's all there is. Check out the movie "Wildstyle" to see hip-hop in it's infancy.
I'm from Alabama, and this chick or mc lyte is a toss up for best female mc of all time. I actually think she could smash most of the men in the game today...real talk. The woman has vocab and swag, and a knack or putting it all together on a track. She is not to be messed with.
I dont even hear hip hop but im a musician and i know that this song shit s on everything you dare to compare, male female old new whateva...this rocks
she had a good sounding voice along with some really good beats but what she lacked was the ability to make you understand what she was saying! observe all the greats you could just sit down and listen their music and under stand what they were saying!
@clintmack28 Not sure what your on about. Her articulation is on point. If you're referring to what she's talkin' about, that's probably intentional. If you ain't from here, you ain't been there. Straight goods. I've been followin' hip-hop since the cold crush brothers. I can't think of one of her tracks that isn't easy to understand. Her flow and delivery is what makes her unique. What is it you can't understand?
@fasoho Thats what happens when a generation is dumbed down by the bullshit that gets airplay. Gucci Mane lmao. These kids are really stupid these days. Their stupidity should help the job market though. lol
