What is unfortunate is that it seems the band now hates this song. Magnus Sveningsson, the bassist of the Cardigans, considers this a "crap song" and says "that song is about nothing really. It´s one of our least fave songs in history and my lyrics are crap."
Well, I respectfully disagree. This is the song that got me hooked on the Cardigans - it was truly unlike anything I had heard at the time. Yes, it's a bizarre song but that's what makes it so wonderful. It isn't a catchy radio song.
@daedamot well I'm so glad I'm not alone in thinking & feeling like this!
It is indeed such a very sad for Magnus, the OWN composer/songwriter, to utter those statements.
yes, it's actually songs like this (and also I'd say the first three albums up to First Band on the Moon) that got me hooked and actually still LOVE Cardigans very much!...not so much of their newer albums, unfortunately, 'cuz I feel they've gotten way more & more 'mainstream pop-ish' typical sounds, not that unique anymore.
Oh man I miss the '90s.
Btw this couldn't be more adorable.

@daedamot True. Also, it always bothers me when musicians piss on their own work because then it's like telling us we're stupid for liking it.

is there a copy of the full version with the spoken part (once upon a time there was a scientist with a nose made of silver...) anywhere online?
