  • today i spent 2 hours trying to push the calipers in with a c clamp. a tool supplier didn't inform me about how to do it and sold me a cheap aluminum c clamp for 15 bucks. got screwed and my dad's friends happen to help me understand that it needs to be turned like a bolt. i was so piissed off at the auto supply shop.

  • Thank you so much. I was using pliers to clamp down and knew there had to be some sort of soecial way to do this. Thus I gave up and went to youtube. You defnitely just saved my day.

  • On Mercury Sables, in general, if you have "The CUBE" piston adapter, you have to use the side with the 4 pins, the ones that are farthest out at the corners. There is one down side though, since the Sable piston has 2 notches, then 2 of the pins will need to be milled off.

  • thank you so much i broke a c clamp and beat the piston with a hammer untill i was ready to cry i thought the calliper was siezed it might be now that i beat the hell out of it

  • I tried pushing in my pistons with circlip pliers - no chance! Needed a special tool for around £30 (like a corkscrew), still hard, even with reservoir cap removed. Car: Bora
