I know some Republicans who are actually quite reasonable and easy to get along with because they defend their views with realistic reasoning. As a healthcare worker in Queens, I still see firsthand so very many responders to 9-11 that are still ill. I even took care of a NYPD officer who got terminal cancer within 3 years of the event, and is no longer with us. I am proud of my representative.

@spazz3z I don't know man, half my family lives in europe. My grandma is on countless meds and in and out of the ER and she pays not a single cent because she was a working citizens. My mother who lives here with me went to the "specialists" who almost killed her because they failed to diagnose her breast cancer. Doctors here are unable to truly care for patioents because they work for the insurance companies and are limited to spending only a few minutes with patients.

That is where most unions (uaw, teachers) force higher wages, more costly heathcare, sick pay and pensions which cause eborbitant demands to the employers. My mother who lives here with me went to the "specialists" who almost killed her because they failed to diagnose her breast cancer. Doctors here are unable to truly care for patioents because they work for the insurance companies and are limited to spending only a few minutes with patients.

As far as getting a job and working for it, have you seen the cost of medical bills? Most jobs wouldn't cover it. It's a very unrealistic idea to think people can just take care of that sort of thing themselves.

@oxilizz They already passed a bill to fund their healthcare, it is sufficient, even though its UN-Constitutional. They shouldnt get taxpayer funding, it should all come from donations, even though they are hereos they Congress cannot pick and choose certain groups of people for free healthcare. Weiner is Dumbacrat, who took this oportunty to show off. If you read the bill its basicallly a union healthcare bailout.

@judyleasugar97 Why is wrong to do whatever you want with your money? That goes for all people rich and poor. Why is there a tax break? maybe there shouldnt be an incentive to give. How is charity a handout? that is money FREELY given not forceably taken. If you have an issue with pride thats your problem. Funny how charity is a handout but taking tax money and wasting it on wealfare programs is an honorable, personal right you are expected to receive. That is something to be proud of!

@bambam8541: Except that these billionaire heads of corporations have gotten there by stealing from their workers, not paying them what they should, not providing them with benefits and safe working conditions. Not to mention overcharging customers. Ever been slapped with a fee you didn't see coming? It's outright theft! Things are better for everyone when there is a fair playing field. That's why the economy was so great in the 50s and 60s.

@judyleasugar97 Really? 50's had inflation unemployment over 6% with its recesion but the private sector (housing/insurance) picked up the economy only for GOVT to overspend and end the 50's with 12 billion deficit and unemployent over 7%. 60's Thats the time the economy grew because all those greedy coporations where born which funded the GOVT to grow out of control and began to be the consumer, employer, regulator and social welfare agency. Funny how you hate those corporations now.

What's Destroying America is Americans... They live beyond their Means, they buy foreign goods in excess. Both Force Companies to either Over pay their workers and go Broke or send Jobs over seas to save what they can for their company... General Motors is a Prime example of that... the Worker's Union there wanted health care, extra pay etc... GM cut its losses and went over seas and now makes a third rate product. My opinion... Up the tax on Foreign Goods 50%... Force Americans to buy American

They do have and have had union guaranteed healthcare but now the taxpayers are fitting the bill.

Unions used to represent the interest of the worker but today they represent the interest of the the union. It all boils down to money and how much the union boss can get from the businss and also the union worker. They are also a good reason our jobs are going overeas. They all support DEM, which is a good indicator they are corrupt. You dont have the freedom to choose NOT to join a union.

It's the greedy employers who want to get out of paying American workers decently! That is where most unions (uaw, teachers) force higher wages, more costly heathcare, sick pay and pensions which cause eborbitant demands to the employers. This is where the union crosse the line becaue the employer has no choice but to pay up or fire everyone, this is the typical strong arm tactics, which force them to go overseas.
