You know, she has the face, she has the body, she has the voice, but she does NOT have the tits!  I've seen this movie at least a handful of times. She has small tits that form NO cleavage...just watch her on YouTube in "The Man with Two Brains" with Steve Martin. Half the girls in my high school had bigger tits than Kathleen Turner. I think what her sex appeal is about is that she fucks him BACK, instead of just laying there and moaning.

This was one of the first films I left thinking about the mind behind the creation of it - it was so well put together. Lawrence Kasdan was a master. Too bad Kathleen put on all that weight - she was gorgeous back then. These are still two excellent actors. I don't particularly like all that thudding of gunshots through the trailer, though - I began to wince after a bit waiting for the next one.

She put on weight because of age AND because she is treated with steroids for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). I saw her on Larry King and she looks terrible. She even joked that she gets NO sexual advances. Right, instead of the gunshots, they needed to work in the ultra-smooth John Barry score...completely underrated and should have been a radio "standard" like the theme from "Twin Peaks"

At least trailers back then tried to do something different. If I saw five trailers like the ones in theaters today, that all are constructed the same way, and then I saw this one, this would be the one I'd remember. And I'd be interested enough to go home and look up more about it, and would possibly want to see it until bad word of mouth changed my mind.

They're not BELLS, they're wind chimes. Body Heat is one of my fave movies, very sultry and sexy. William Hurt and Kathleen Turner sizzled together onscreen. Years later they made another film together called The Accidental Tourist.

@yeggola what's your defnition of a good trailer? This is brilliant and extremely simple like the best work of Saul Bass. Today's overly busy trailers with buses coming at you and explosions do not hold a candle to this (no pun intended).

@saxophile1 Good point. But I don't think this trailer captures the atmosphere of this great film. The score, by John Barry is awesome and should've been used for the trailer, too. Also, too much is shown in the trailer for my tastes, giving away too much. This trailer is artistic, yes. But if I hadn't seen the film already, this trailer wouldn't compel me to. Thank goodness I never saw this trailer and saw the flick when it came out. I was spellbound by it from start to finish.

@frontlinefilms - After hearing it again, yes, you're right, it's an amplified match being lit. My viewpoint of the trailer doesn't change, it's still not clever or scary. We don't need to hear that sound 8 times to understand this is a mystery /thriller.

i think this trailer is really ballsy. Think about it: there's no Trailer Man voice, and there's no faced editing cutting from scene to scene in a matter of seconds like most movies today, the trailer isn't boring or tedious or awkward. The way the gunfire keeps going off makes you want to watch the trailer in entirety. You want to finish this trailer.

I think the trailer is very interesting and sets up a feeling of suspense. Who cares if it doesn't give you the plot of the movie? Conventional trailers are usually boring.

This was from 1981..it was a match that was being striked..to spell Body Heat.. not a bullet. The trailor was brilliant..because the character Maddie was mysterious..and she kept you guessing right to the end of the movie.
