Learning this song on guitar and bass REALLY made me appreciate it. That change from D major to D7 right at the 1:00 mark, right as John jangles his guitar a bit, is so satisfyingly bluesy. It makes me weak in the knees.

This has always been one of my faves. Doesn't hurt I played guitar in a band called the Lavender Hill Mob from 66 - 70 & we covered this one. We had 3 really good vocalists, and I wasn't that bad either so we loved doing harmonies like this.

@Emerystreet Thanks. I'm so glad I was a kid when the Beatles were singing--for about 7 years in a row, it seems there was always a new Beatles song on the radio. They were phenomenal! And young people loved them because they made such happy music. (My parents didn't care for them because they were "noisy," repeating things too much, like "Yeah, yeah, yeah," and worst of all, the end of Hey Jude, "Na, na na na-na-na-nah..."!
