lol, the fansubs didnt know what they were doing when they were translating, first the captian on the ova is tetsuya onodera, and what i can guess from the situation tetsuya was gona use the frontal barrier to hit the hell gate like captain daitetsu on the first game did to white star, lets just say daitetsu was the captain in the first game, and in the second game he died, tetsuya was pointed as the captain, but this ova is from the third game...

Meaning that the upgrades to the Weissy just dissappeared overnight without a trace.

A better question is why the Alt is just the Alt, and not the Riese.

@zankai4the1ending If you look, the Alt has the black squares on the claymore launchers, plus the extra large spikes on its back. It's the Riese, just not drawn in a very detailed manner.

Awesomeness. Sanger arrives killing stuff, the Kurogane's Drill does his job flawlessly, as usual, Kyosuke shows Juergen he keeps his word.

I pitied Lamia's fate in the game (even though I knew she would come back) but the OVA touched me with the courage of Lamia fighting the ODE system and Kyosuke saying he would save her. Awesome and heartwarming.

Yea, but in a sense the grungust series (which the dygenguard was based I think, check the original os attacks if ya dont believe me) look a bit like gundams dont ya think. *apart from the human like face on them* they are quite alike in some respects, the V on the forhead, their power, and in some occasions their equipment (only one occasion comes to mind for me, the boost knuckle of the grungust is like how the master gundam can detatch its forarms and strike at a further distance)

I think it's a modified version of 'The sword that cleaves evil' (Zengar's theme) or it could be 'The gate of magus'
