  • this would be better if in the end they perform a hanging,,,,,

  • Perry is a true artist and Ice T!! They put out a good message about how ignorant racism is!!!! Love it!!!

  • They did this in Atlanta and it was amazing. Perry was really playing with the crowd... I believe it made a lot of people there think. Perry really had the Jim Morrison-like ability to embrace and attack the audience and get a message across. One of the best shows I've ever been to - I believe it was peace symbols on the paper for this one... :)

  • Perry is batshit insane.

  • This is so amazingly fucking cool. It gives me shivers every time I hear it.

  • oh my gawd O__O he's got balls of fucking steel and rock

  • This has all the elements of a Wrestling match. I love that they did it this way. It matters. Sly and the Family knew what they were doing when they made this song, and Perry and Ice knew what they were doing when they did it again.

  • IF WE HAVN'T LEARNED A DAMN F###ING THING FROM THIS COLLABERATION, THEN WE HAVEN'T LEARNED A F##KING THING AT ALL.

    T.J.

  • With blacks and jews everything is about race. Pathetic, and they blame everything on us.

  • Epic.

  • When Sly & the Family Stone made the song in 1969, they were a multi-racial group and most people understood the message. Of course, the Youtube population has a large percentage of people who are too ignorant to withstand this kind of temptation. Their role models are Beavis and Butthead...."he said nigger! heh, heh"

  • why has the version from gift been removed? was somebody offended? BOO HOO

  • FOR ALL THOSE WHO THOUGHT RACISM (REPUBLICANS, DEMOCRATS, LIBERALS, GREEN PARTY, TEA PARTY, ETC...) RUNS RAMPANT IN THE WORLD TODAY, JUST TAKE A PAGE FROM THIS COLABORATION AND SHOVE YOUR OPINIONS WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!!!!!!!!

THIS IS MUSIC, ART, AND FREE SPEECH.

    FUCK YOUR LITTLE LABELS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can someone upload the version that was on "the gift" or whatever that video was when they did this.

  • @OCIRELCNU I have done just that.

  • Do black people take alot of offence against racism? Or are white people over exaggerating?

  • perry is the man!!!!!!!

  • defintion of a nigger is any individual that exhibits flawed traits or is a flesh failure

both ice t and perry are niggers

  • @countbloodula ...Nigga, you dumb.

  • @countbloodula I beg to differ. A nigger is far from an individual. A nigger has a slave mentality accompanied by a severe inferiority complex, thinks the world owes them, and blames white people for everything. By that logic, a nigger is a racist as well. The best definition of a nigger is on The Boondocks; "A nigga moment"

  • @netwerxsystems by ur definition all those who got the bailouts r niggers i agree with trhat- everyone on wall street r niggers

  • fuck yeah.

perry was awesome in this and ice is not your everyday type prankster..

HE'S ICE T THE ORIGINAL GANSTER!!!!!!!!

  • when I say this on the gift video... Holy shit! did they first do this together, before or after the riots?

  • Dont call me Mongooooooooooooooo NIgga.

  • looks like fink and stabler back in the day

  • whats the story behind this song?.....

  • @stocktonmiller110 it's a sly and the family stone cover

  • oh, sup ice t?

  • cuz yo just a nigga! hahaha

  • These guys are pretty good. I'm kinda surprised they never made it big.

  • dam thy got some guts/nuts to do this sht at 2;17 to 2:45 sounds awesome for some reson and im black

  • wow. i remember signing the waiver on my way in the gate, never thought i'd see this footage! THANK YOU!

  • hahaha!!!

Whitey and nigga... both of them are gray in their faces!

They shure had some great time together backstage before the gig!

  • before anyone gets the wrong idea, lets be frank, who cares its entertainment and neither ice-t or perry farrell are racist in any way. they re-made the sly & family stones song and its all in good fun. so to all bleeding hearts out there who are offended by your own fart this isn't for you so kindly fuck off and let us Jane's/Ice-T fans enjoy this lollapolooza clip. Its meant to educate in a way don't call me nigga/don't call me whitey can't we just get along?

  • yup! 100% accurate!

  • @88dark1 i agree, its like ebony and ivory except awesome.

  • I was fortunate enough to see them live at the first Lalapalooza tour (Fairfax, VA).... truly a godlike performance...might have been the couple hits of blotter, but have never seen a performance like it yet t this day....... YEah, come on!!!!

  • Perry in his prime!

  • when music was awesome

  • classic...

  • Original song is pretty funky.

    But nonetheless.

    This shit is nice, man.

They did a hell ass job on this one.

  • Such a great anti racism song... though it's so hard...

  • this definately took some balls.

  • @OmenOfOdin especially since Ice T was standing right there.

  • OMFG, this was so damn awesome live in '91 at irvine meadows,ca. The crowd went bullistic cuz all knew the humor and satire of it. This is one of the greatest collaborations in recent years.

  • Can someone PLEASE tell me where this was???

I saw 1st Lollapalooza in Chicago 91 and can't find footage. Much thanx!

  • its in the more info

"Jane's Addiction - 08/28/1991 - King County Fairgrounds, Enumclaw, WA"

  • I was there too!! Best time of my life!!!

  • I'm wondering, is the bit where Ice T and Perry Farrell salute meant to draw comparisons between the Nazis and the Black Panthers?

  • @ruleoforder Its an anti-racism protest song originally played by Sly and the Family Stone.

  • You've totally missed the point there.....

  • Thank god you said this. Sometimes I lose all faith in people's bullshit detectors...

  • wow never saw this. classic. body count & janes addiction do lenny bruce. awesome

  • @plann99 What do you mean Lenny Bruce? Does he do an act similar to this? The song they are covering is by Sly and the Family Stone.

  • @plann99

Actually, this is a Sly and the Family Stone cover.

  • Man, goosebumps from the good memories of that tour. Miss those days.....

  • I've always wondered why something more degrading than "whitey" or even "cracker" couldn't be devised to denigrate my race. Can anyone help me here?

  • It isn't the word that is degrading, it's always the context and past use of the word. It seems that none of the white 'slurs' have any deep meaning, because in popular belief, they are used to being a majority and not pointed out or discriminated. Finding these names seems to be alot easier when you're head is dense and ingnorant.

  • This was a great show, it was cold and rainy, steam was rising from the crowd, people were still as close to the stage as they could get. I met some really cool people that night that I'll remember forever.

  • JAJAJAJAJA amazing

  • is this Ice T?

the message of the song is clear.

    love it

  • Earnie C is bad ass

  • LOL i had to come back and see this again.

I was actually talking with Perry at my job yesterday since i work with Millennium Park where Lollapalooza is being held and i asked him about this and what it was like he said "It was awesome, i think it worked a little" then he laughed.

    hahaha he's a cool guy.

  • so classic, you couldn`t make it anymore or at least it wouldn`t fly 2 far. Body Count rocks and kicked ass this whole tour while T took the pc bullets.member?

  • hahaha man wtf 6:05ish hahah rolling around wtffff

  • what does perry say after "wanna hear a really good joke??"

  • "I found a really good use for black people. You can hollow 'em out when they're dead and make wetsuits." He was basically setting up the song by putting the fact and existence of racism right up front.

  • ice t and ernie c!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just accidentally came into this video, man this is so cool !

  • the classics never die ??!!??

  • hahaahaha

  • perry is the most important man in rock.

  • I love Perry, but nobody is the most important man in rock. That's the beauty.

  • Perry is the most important man in rock today.

  • this video is 91... and even then he wasn't.

  • uh yea... he only runs lollapalooza. no big deal. HA.

  • i didn't say he wasn't a big deal, i said he wasn't the most important man in rock. and he is not.. not one person it. who gives a shit it he runs lollapolooza.

  • you should do a little research on what the first lollapalooza did for rock music.

  • Okay, sounds like something I definately won't do.

  • Wow! The good old days, so sweet.

  • i was at that show but that was a way better view ... thanx..

  • Ice t is one of the whitest black guys i've ever seen

  • i love the music the beat the message is there but if this is about name calling and Hitler shit Ice-T should be houweling Jew or what ever it is assholes use to describe Jewish people like the word nigger...whitey is after all a word to be used for Anglo Saxons... lets get it right...PS I HATE ALL THIS LABBELING I HATE RASISIM I HATE TO HATE BUT I"M PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW

  • good show

  • So why exactly is Perry Farrell heiling Hitler?

  • 'Cause he's Jewish (a.k.a. Simon Bernstein). Added irony.

  • making fun of White Supremacist crap...he is a Jew...get it?

  • You need BALLS to send an anti-racism message like that.

And ironically, it's probably the most effective way to get the message across to people.

  • the song was almost as repetative as bound for the floor but it was an amazing praformance i feel bad for anyone who didnt make it

  • haha ice-t couldent hold the note like the lead singer did

  • if only i was alive when this happend i was born in 93 and lived in enumclaw all my life

  • legandary performance.

  • Excellent Sly and the Family Stone cover

  • thats soooo cool and crazy

  • First or second Mudapalooza? I saw it at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver. As good as it gets. Thanks for the memories.

  • I was at this concert, and to this day, its still the best one I've been to. I remember freezing my ass off until much later in the afternoon/early evening. Lou Reed's "Take A Walk On the Wild Side" playing on the loudspeaker in between bands.

Violent Femmes, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Fishbone, Body Count....

Hard to believe its been 17 years already. Thanks so much for posting this!

    Good times... Goooooood times....

  • What memories. I was at this concert too. I remember being the first one to surf the crowd that morning during Violent Femmes and it seemed like I was up there forever. Nutty. Wow 17years...? Must be gettin old...

  • i got a boot from atlanta......i also jussss watched 9-26-91...they r all naked...i got that boot 2...

  • avery one of the best....

  • Awesome post!!

  • eric avery, best bassist ever

  • I saw them perform this live at Lollapalooza in Atlanta. Not the greatest song, but at least they tried to be a little controversial. Today's bands bend over for the record industry.

  • Sly And The Family Stone played by Jane's Addiction! I just wet myself! probably the only time that a white man can say nigger and get away with his life . . . a match made in heaven . . . I'm not a rap fan so Ice Cube or whoever he is but I love Jane's doing the Family Stone . . . fantastic . . . currently: orgasming

  • I do believe that it's Ice-T. Hard to keep the chilled straight, I know.

  • yeah yeah sorry . . . not a rap fan so yeah . . . Body Count is cool though

  • i dont get it also i use to think he was gay LQTMS

  • i was on some very good sugarcubes, a very memberable show, im 33 know, and i went to some historic shows, thank god for youtube

  • i love! the creativity

  • hahaha I was totally not expecting that joke at the beginning.

  • me eithr

  • Hilarious.

  • wow.

  • omg, so was I! that was the first lollapalooza and the best, my friend paisley was there selling hats and i kept changing hats all day! LOL

  • Was that Michael Richards singing with Ice T?!!

  • dont you have anything to do??

  • this is actually a cover from sly and the family stones. just slightly, stranger. in case no one knew.

  • wow...interesting...I don't know whether to laugh or be offended by that first bit xD

  • i love jane's...

  • They didnt do this at all the shows, but when they did it was sooo powerful. None of the following Lollas even compared to this first year. It was our generations Woodstock. Body Count made music history with their new style. Siouxsie and the Banshees put on such an amazing performance it could only be outdone by Janes follow up. I'll never forget Perry & Ice-T dancing arm in arm across the stage at the end of this song.

  • I was on LSD the entire day of this show. Remember the MUD/MOSH pit?

  • Don't call me afro-american.

  • what does ice-t say after the singer says "im proud to be a.."? Anyone know?

  • say it loud

  • black man. I think...

  • american

  • He's saying: "PAN-THA!" (Read as: "Panther," as in: "Black Panther"--this was the second cut from Sly & the Family Stone's second album "Stand," recorded in 1969, at the height of the Black Power movement.)

What a killer day that was.

  • the bass is amazing

  • Of course. It's Eric.

  • im proud to eat at sizzler?

  • Wow! The good old days, so fucking sweet.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • remember when rock and roll was still dangerous?

  • Don't call me Tarhole, Dookie.

  • And I was there. Enumscratch. Rained all night, all day. Went w/ 3 girls who couldnt camp. Disaster in the making.

    Greatest show EVER

  • Honky tonky inbred donkey,,,,Whitey

  • dont call me whitey, NIGGER!

  • Anyone know where I can download an mp3 of Jane's and Ice T performing this since it's not on ITUNES or any torrent sites I have looked at? If you have a bootleg of this performance, I would be willing to buy it.

  • i know janes addiction, but who is the black guy? good video, i wish i was there.

  • Dats Ice-T. Cop killa yo.

  • Awesome.

  • I rememebr all the cameras and the rumor of the movie. I wish the whole show was floating around to download. It rained so much that day that the whole crowd was steaming which looks like smoke in the videos. Thanks fo rthe posts!

  • I was at this show....I want thr whole concert...anyone know where to get it?

  • The whole show has never surfaced. The three clips I posted from that show were going to be part of a Lollapalooza documentary by Perry's girlfriend Casey.

  • RHCP? Are you kidding?

I saw this at Mountain View and lost it! Have been die hard ever since!

  • racist motherfuckers lmao at this vid , great vocals aswell! long live red hot chili peppers

  • There will always be only one Jane's Addiction.

  • I've seen better.

  • Thats so sweet. I've wanted to see that for years.

  • I remember seeing this, I loved it then, I still love it!!!

    ICE T and Perry!!!

  • saw it in person...brought the house down...what a stage show - Jane's headlining the original Lollapalooza...maybe I'm getting old, but there seemed to be shit at stake back then...

  • hahaha...mofos

  • referencing Sly & the Family Stone w/ Ice-T & Body Count...all in the world of Perry Farrel & Jane's Addiction!

  • Incredible!

  • Fucking brilliant. Jane's was brilliant live back in the day.

  • hilarious and genious

  • 8ice t is cooler than fuck

    copkiller:)

  • classic classic classic - nice to see this vid - saw them do it live at the first paloo, and i've heard boots of this performance for years, but never saw the vid

  • what a great video. perry is a genius. i was laughing so hard when he does a series of forward rolls and lands one into Avery.

  • dude, is that bodycount and jane's addiction? crazy.

  • ice-t

  • yeah...ice-t is in bodycount. that's 2/5 of bodycount. if you didn't notice the incredibly large black man playing the guitar, he's in bodycount. haha

  • thats fuckin amazing iv heard about it but never seen it thanks

  • i was there, best concert i have ever been to.. this was at the king county fairgrounds in enumclaw WA.
