The reason behind the thinking that the survivors traveled at night in the first one, is that the with is up at daylight wandering around. There is a lot more to the story than you think. The sunlight bothers the witch and she can't remain still. So this is thought to be why the previous survivors only traveled at night. These survivors seem not to know otherwise...

I promised myself to never argue over the internet. But this deserves a response.

First of all, *retarded*. Second, a shotgun uses shells and fire pellets that are sized in gauges. There are no bullets. Third, the size of the gauge depends on how many pellets are inside each shell. Fourth, getting hit by a shotgun will not amputate the inflicted. It will bore a hole into them and leave a nasty exit wound, but it's not like movies or video games make it out to be.
