OMG!!! I've been looking for this song on here. This was one of my first 45's - got it in the 4th grade. It was the B side of Yakety-Yak, I think. I loved this song so much, played it over and over and over. I didn't know the Coasters could be serious back then. Thanks for the upload - sounds just as I remembered, even better. The outtake is really, really cool, too, like peeping in a door of the studio. Thanks, again.
@CheckMate657879 I know the Coasters as you know 'em, their known for theeir novelty/comical songs like Yakety Yak & Charlie Brown. I say this is cause of this song here....this is definetly not the comical side of the Coasters, their sounding more serious here in this version of "Zing" & then Along Came Jones (hey), well you can have Jones!. This definetly my favorite song by Coasters, as I don't get off on their so called novelty songs, I'd rather listen to "Alley Opp" any day!!!
@Ezdduf4kuZ It's always good to hear this one again, particulary this version by the Coasters. This is actually my favorite by the Coasters...it's not " Along came Irene" or "Charlie Brown", and yet this Zing was never played here back when as were a few other hits by the Coasters . Safe and sound under the sunny skies in Vancouver Cda I'd like to thanku once again for keeping this shiner posted!!lol
54Richie - good job getting this up loaded. It is my favorite Coasters track. Saw them live in Fitchburg, Mass in 1965. Or was that 1974. Hell, I can't remember those details. But I can remember the great sounds of the Coasters.
A great and memorable song that brought me here searching it out, and coincidently I find it's been uploaded and posted by another Richie. Thank you so much, from Richie V. :))
How strange... another Funny thing is though i tried to post some other coasters songa but copyright wouldn't allow it..Think maybe it was the wording that got this one through..It does seem most of the Atlantic Label songs are out of bounds tried several by different artists too..
You had to see them in person to really appreciate their greatness. They were one of the first groups to do skits on stage while they were proforming. One of the all-time great groups. Uptown theatre in Phila. Pa. with Georgie Woods "the man with the goods".
Thanks Richie.......I did try to post this one but wmg,,,blah,blah,blah!....don't know how you managed but i'm glad you did, it's my all time favorite Coasters track, thanks again,Mark.
