If you look up Verichip docs.. i.e, bus plans going back to about 2003, they state that they were testing and using the UPC scan for the express purpose of moving ahead to a "cashless" ecomony to keep track of an indivduals money, medical records, and eventually a virus detector programmed in the chip. I found this on their own website about a month ago when Verichip stock went way up after they announced a "go" by the FDA. I would've never beleived it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
