  • it looked like you were gonna hit the truck with a bunch of debris when you stood 10 ft away and blasted it with a straight stream through the windows...I've seen better outcomes just getting right up on it through the windows with a good fog. :P

  • dam got that line charged quick nice job

  • Awesome Video!

  • you say you are not into EMS,But you sure sound like a little EMS Bitch. Free-lancers, give me a brake,no suchthing, free lanching is the result of poor or NO COMMAND!you talk about out tactics but then yu back up after i say soomething to you and tell us how bad ass we are and we are a great rural fire co. Rual my ass! How old are you?and how long have you been in the fire service? Ibet you are under 23 and been in the fire dept less then 3 years!!!id put money on it!

  • Who cares what co 3 did!dont play monday morning quaterback! if you have a problem or question call the bedford firehouse. you dont learn firefighting talking about it on youtube. run calls learn from the older firefighters, ask questions there, shut up and listen, pay your dues, thats how you become a good firefighter!

  • sorry i posted so many comments. YouTube would only let me post 500 characters at a time.

  • why don't you ask that company 3 member why they dumped the station yesterday for a traffic crash with no entrapment before they could get an ambulance out. and i heard people on the radio on fire apparatus that i know are EMTs and dual members. im not huge on EMS (and I know that's a pretty ignorant statement), but patient care is more important than post-incident traffic control. i'm not a member there either, but it's a good question for discussion.

  • i was trying to defend against the co3 member's remark bc i think bedford is badass for a rural vollie fire co.

  • as far as the number of fires my department runs...i may occasionally volunteer in bedford county, but i don't work there. i don't have the exact numbers for last year right at hand, but I do know in the last four shifts, we've run two working single alarm fires and two two alarm fires. i don't know all there is to know, but I do know a little bit about what is going on.

  • and just because i don't agree with some things they do doesn't necessarily make them wrong. we all have our own opinions and our own way of doing things.

  • bedford is an impressive fire company. however, just because i don't agree with them doesn't mean that they took my girlfriend or beat me into my first due. honestly, i think it's kick ass how aggressive they are and I wish more departments in bedford county were like that. many people in the county will write off bedford as "free-lancers" and whatever bullshit. it's really nothing more than want to do the job and wanting to do it well.

  • and wouldn't you say that really the only way to better the fire service is through discussion with other firefighters from throughout the country, and really throughout the world, about the very tactics and the other issues we face as firefighters. we must learn from each others' mistakes and each others' successes. an assertion that there is no room for improvement in any emergency services organization, regardless of their status within their own county, is completely irresponsible.

  • ok you got me there...i apologize. i didn't intend to discount all of the very good things that bedford does or to discredit them in any way.

however, just because they do great things doesn't necessarily mean that i agree with them all of the time.

  • 40c090, you say you are not a fan of bedfords tactics, what did they take a few fires from you? take your girlfriend? Dude they are the best fire dept in bedford co , they have been bailing out fire depts around them for many years. maybe you should just say thank you!!They have written sop's that they follow they train all the time,Hell does any other depts in the county even have written sop's? But i guees bfd's tactics are different then the tactics your dept used on there 3 fires last year!

  • honestly, im not always a huge fan of some of bedford's tactics, but they do a good job in the video. as far as the bumper, what was the model and year of the car?

always was it really necessary to continue the rescue? or could they have been picked up once the fire was knocked down? that isn't meant as a criticism, just a question for discussion.

  • you guys do realize your all standing in front of the bumper right.

  • You're kidding us right? They knock the fire down from the side and are only in front of the bumper long enough to get the hood popped. Not everythings textbook in the real world.

  • Well hell atleast they had air packs on. Damn thats better than 95% of the rural fire departments. Damn come to think of it thats more members on one truck tham some departments bring for the whole call.

  • Having ridin with these lads I can tellyou they are no hick department, they are well set up and well organised, seems to be a bit of green eyed monster, like I say to the guys at home, worry about doing things well in your own patch before going on at others.

  • Sweet video! Poppin the hood is a bitch isn't it?
