Hey genius How are you? Where did you get that version of the Capriccio espagnol? It's great! You can send it to me? Congratulations for the video is very good. I love Korsakov. :D
There is a lot more of RK's music that was not in this clip, of course--wonderful Overture on Russian Themes, Sadko Tone poem, the opera suites (May Night, Mlada, etc), Piano concerto (yes he wrote one)....let get more on...thanks
Rarely staged outside of Russia, don’t miss the Royal Opera House’s first production of Rimsky-Koraskov’s tragic tale of Ivan the Terrible’s dark quest for a wife in The Tsar’s Bride. A highlight of the Season, it is a rare opportunity to see an operatic gem.
I am so glad I found this video! I love all of Rimsky Korsakov's works! He could even be one of my favourite composers! I especially love his Sheherazade! Thanks so much for uploading! The video goes straight to my favourites! Two questions.
1. Who were the performers in the Capriccio? Fantastic Performance!
2. Are you going to make any more videos like this, I'd like to see more, maybe with different composers!
Good job!!! This is so wonderful! It made me very happy! RK was definitely a fan of the fairy-tales! I love this magical, mystical World of all these stories. The bumblebee made me laugh with tears. It's such a poignant piece of music - it prtrays pefectly the image and feeling of a bee buzzing around! So cute! Love&Peace, J
I love those woodwind solos on the Bumblebee and the Capriccio! And many of the pieces I have posted here is unknown, e.g. the Golden Cockerel. Have you heard R-K's Antar symphony (I posted it) and the Piano Concerto (I think truecrypt posted it)? Those aren't featured here, but they are marvelous.
Seriously, scary, A.? Its just Scheherazade, based on the Arabian Nights. More like... mystical. And the next piece: Capriccio espagnol. An extremely cheery piece. Sounds like a festival!
Before I liked classical music, I played an edited version of the Alborada in our orchestra. It was a very festive piece. That was one of the events that led me to like classical music. But probably Bolero had the largest effect...
Anyway, whats your favorite movement of the Capriccio?
Yes, it is beautiful! When I login my Channel and I was delighted to see a column of pink flowers on my comment page! I looked closer, and it is YOU! So you have brighten up my day :)))

Good selection! Rimsky Korsakov was IMO one of the best orchestrators of all time.

Beautiful music. But, I am going out of my mind trying to find the Tale of Tsar Saltan 2nd Movement.
Also know as Introduction"The Tsaritsa and Her Son Afloat in the Barrel"
I wonder if you have that exact one and if you're able to upload it

Mingyu:
This is a wonderful primer for R-K! It can be an effective springboard to delving deeper into his compositions, and it has variety as well.
Like RomanceInStrings mentions, it does appear to be a labor of love :)
I particularly am in awe of R-K's command over the woodwinds, e.g., in Flight of the Bumblebee and Capriccio espagnol.
