How to smoke your tail lights

what grit did you use to wet sand then what should you use on the clear coat

how necessary is sanding? My car has 3k miles and not a scratch anywhere especially the tail lights so is sanding necessary or will it look like crap if i dont?

@TeamEpsilonRacing You dont have to sand it but to me it sanding it seems like the paint sets in better. Just make sure you sand the clear coat with 2000grit to 3000grit sandpaper then buff it with some polishing compound, i dont show it in the video but it makes it look like a brand new tail light.

I did this and it worked perfect but i did lightly sand with 2500 grit sand paper and buffed with mothers special compound and it looks nice! :D Thanks!

If you get streaks of the night shade what should you do? PLEASE HELP

@terrencomp i use gasoline to take night shades completely off, just wipe a little bit of gas on the light using a microfiber until the paint is completely off, then wash it with soap and water, then wet sand it with 1500grit sand paper, then 2000grit. Remember make sure its super clean and dry before applying the paint, then wait about ten minutes per coat.

you should buff out the clear coat so it would look very shiny, just wet sand the clear coat with a 2000 grit sandpaper until it looks dull, clean it very well and then put some rubbing compound and rub it very hard and the shine would appear, very cool looking.
