As a Christian and as a human being, I am sorry beyond expression for the uncountable atrocities that have been committed in the name of religion. I know that apologies can't possibly fully heal the pain. But neither can that pain be healed by blaming everyone of a particular faith group. There are many wonderful Catholics, just as there are wonderful Muslims, Jews, Atheists, Hindus, etc. Nothing can justify these crimes, but not all believers are the perpetrators.
