the transfer on our trilogy was fuzzy....very poor video quality probably the worst I have ever seen....hope they come out with high definition Blu-Ray!
@shehulk10 That's how the show has always looked. A Blu-ray release is highly unlikely because of how the show was produced - shot on film, but edited and mastered on standard definition 1-inch broadcast videotape. The only way to improve it wold be to dig out the original film elements (if they even still exist) and reconstruct every episode from scratch. For such a niche show (that we're lucky to have on DVD at all), that's not likely to happen. This is as good as it will ever be.
@itsfrank0 I do indeed! I've seen a good chunk of the original 60's series, but would really like to see all of it. One of these days I'll shell out for the DVD sets. I still have the complete VHS set of the 90's remake, which was excellent. I didn't upgrade to the DVD because the DVD had a lot of issues (I did a rant about it in 2008 actually, if you search my videos for "Dark Shadows" it should pop right up).
How come I see a Walking Dead DVD in the back but no review for this series? I'll check out Forever Knight and see what the hype is about is it scarier than Salem's Lot?
@fernandoiscrazy No, it's more character-driven than horror-based. That's actually the Blu-ray set of Walking Dead. I only recently got it. Plus it's something everyone and their dog is talking about right now, not sure I could really add much that hasn't already been said a thousand times. I prefer to focus on stuff that isn't the talk of the town at the moment.
I had a friend who was really into this show during it's original run... I never really got into for some reason, probably cuz that guy seemed to watch a lot of CRAP. This show sounds kind of like HIGHLANDER: the series, with the past event effecting a current one, etc (of course it's not like that concept is totally new/original). Immortal/vampire... pretty much the same excuse to say "he can live forever" I suppose.
If you are looking for a Vampire the Masquerade like series I recommend Moonlight, other that off course Kindred the Embraced Moonlight is the TV series that for me have gotten closest to VtM. Others series such as for example Blood Ties is great, but I do not think the mood fit that of VtM really.
Season 3 of Forever Knight have gotten a bit pricey. I got it half a years ago and I paid 80 dollars including shipping for it.
Saying this reminded you of Vampire the Masquerade has me pretty interested, I think I'll check this out. Love me some vampires but have never been a fan of most vampire themed tv shows like Buffy or True Blood.
@Zaranyzerak never that of his change as just a whim. I think back & the thing that stuck out from that show is that a big reason he didnt want to be evil anymore is that lecroix wanted him to either kill or turn a kid and he wasn't having it. A very awesome show :)
Great show. I remember when Nick was going to drop someone off a tall building. His partner said. "Don't do it. Think of the paperwork." I laugh my ass off. Troy
That happens a lot like the ninja turtles original lasted ten seasons due to a 13 episode story arc when the left new york went to Europe being combined with the second half of season 7 when they were back in the states again. Then the darker series that was more faithful to the comics but still water down enough to be airable only last 6 the final season is still not avilable.
At first I thought you where going to talk about vampire knight probably because you talked about anime last time, this show sounds a lot like the buffy spin off angel.

The premise of this sounds similar to The Man From Earth.

@KaraLVRogueLZ Yep, Catherine Disher was the voice of Jean Grey. Don't recall if Lenore Zann was in an episode of FK though.
