  • I love this channel, and this french toast recipe is the tits. I made it with strawberry JAM and cream cheese. Just alternated cream and jam, until it was coverd. Then I finished the way you do in the video.

  • @Boonedaba it's the tits??? never heard that expression, i think i like it lol

  • @PrincessDiana161 Yeah, it's the tits. I've made this for myself, and two other people ,each on a different occasion, they all love it!!! Can't wait for my Limoncello to be ready.

  • that was fun

  • brilliant!

  • You sound soo much like Judge Judy...apart from that I like the idea of jam filling, first time I see it. Definitely gonna try this, and the flavoured whipped cream is genius! Mature women have so much wisdom, I'm over these youngsters and men trying to be chefs, women just have that unparalleled magical touch that makes a dish come to life!

  • i get so hungry by watching this :/

  • Thanks for this :)

  • @albinouna right...because you were tied down and forced to watch it....epic fail on your part that you stayed and even bothered to comment on something you didn't enjoy

  • @PrincessDiana161 i actually enjoyed it very much! for some reason i thought making french toast was hard lol i dont really cook at all but im for sure making french toast soon! thank you!!!

  • @PrincessDiana161

Right?! Albinouna needs to get out of the house more often.

  • @albinouna Ur mom Bitch!!!

  • @albinouna maybe you should be a little more respectful towards your elders because the fact that you don't know how to make french toast is a sign that you've been a little too dismissive of "old people". Nice video. :)

  • I am going to try it now actually. :P

  • I did this recipe for my husband...topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of almonds on top!! Was amazing!! Thanks!!

  • loved this recipe & the jalapeno poppers <3

  • "But not for breakfast, Frankie!"

    I laughed. So funny.

  • Ja sehr lecker

  • Also a nice way to make it... i think no one can say which French Toast is the real ones..

Every Cook has his own special of making good food so ..

thats why i called cooks .. every cook is his own special ^^

  • a little powdered sugar ?lol looks amazing though

  • i have made french toast with vanilla and milk in the egg mix i dunk the bread in, then added cinnamon. then it just got to the point i was to lazy to do all that stuff(not much but i was tired) then i just made eggs and dunked the bread in to that, and i scratched the milk idea cause it takes away from the purness of the eggs. but i will have to try this i will leave a video response to it!!

  • just fucking cook the fucking shit already eh

  • why????????do u call it french toast if ur using american bread??

  • approximately how many servings will this basic french toast custard make? :)

  • my aunt makes this with mozzarella instead of jam on sourdough or italian bread, it's the best oops and no whip cream

  • use stale bread that was sitting out for a few hours, it soaks up more liquid and doesnt fall apart. Finish it in the oven after the pan and the liquid in the bread turns it into a custard like bread pudding. That's how we do it in the restaurant.

  • you remind me of my professor...

  • umm is it ok if u dont mke the whio cream and put syrup on top?

  • @metalgsolid20 Of course :)

  • You are amazing Diana; not everyone would have the patience to share a bit of themselves the way you do. Thank you and Frank both for such great learning tools for all of us. Take care and since Christmas is fast approaching; Happy Holidays to you.

  • strawberry jam inside french toast!!!!!!!!yum!, is it okay to add a bit of cream cheese in the filling? or will that make it too heavy and soggy? I really like your videos btw, so funny!

  • @dreamgirl1981 I've made it with cream cheese & jam sometimes...it's AWESOME!

Glad you liked the vid sweetie :)

  • Great video! Looks good. Guess you could get creative with what to stuff the french toast with. Good idea.

  • I like this recipe.

"You can use any type of bread" : try it with real French bread, sliced. First it won't fall apart, then the roasted crust adds taste to the toasts. In France we use dry bread, it works better, and is intended to re-using bread which is no longer fresh.

Finally, if you were in France, don't ask for "toasts français", we have no idea this is called like this in your country. In fact, we call this "pain perdu" ("lost bread") and serve it as a dessert. Kids love it.

  • I tried this. It failed.

  • can you speak more with your hands, you're not being Italian enough

  • I love french toast! I decided to remake it and post it on my channel... maybe with my own style though. :)

  • MAN THAT LOOKS SO SO GOOD!!!

  • Can you use that whipe cream for cakes? it will last for good time?

  • @TICABELLA23 yes...it will last for a few days in the refrigerator

  • You remind me of my grandmother, my aunt and my sister. They try different things to make the food seems fun to eat (since I'm kinda picky... So it's a good thing). :)

  • Cool idea but "Wonder bread" and Smucker's jam...about the worst you can buy!

  • I have that cookbook :) found it at an antique store and it has all sorts of notes from the lady that previously owned it

  • Coffee or tea ?

  • Looks good!:)

I'll be making this for sure.

  • you remind me of my aunt in germany! she's also so jolly. :D anyway you just gave me the best and yummiest idea to make french toast! thanks! :D

  • Nice video presentation. This was my first time watching one of your videos and I am going to watch more. When I make my French toast, using your recipe, I’ll probably use a Jewish Challah bread (I hope the egg-rich Challah and egg dip doesn’t end up being egg overkill) and maybe add a tablespoon or less of of Kahlua coffee liquor to the topping mix.

  • Nice warm cozy feeling. =)

  • is this calorie free?? hahaha

  • Will you be my neighbor..

  • wow....

  • :) I tried this and used riccotta cheese as well as the strawberry jam. Very nice!

  • To add volume to the sandwich, put a cover on your pan while they cook. The steam gets trapped and the bread will absorb it.

  • ihop at diana house ???? get the coffee ready too : )

  • That's a spoiled breakfast lol but I cant wait to spoil the boyfriend with this breakfast! =)

  • hey diana i can never get the bread crunchy like yours looks....i quickly dip it like you said but its soggy!!!

  • she may have a thicker kind of bread...in which case if its thinner it will get more soaked.

  • Try leaving the bread you are going to use on the counter overnight for firmer french toast. The drier bread makes for less soggy results.

  • what an awesome BOOK!!!! awesome

  • Made this this morning for some guests that had stayed over the previous night. It was a big hit!!! Thank you soo much :)
