  • What's the first song?

  • @DrEviscerator666 mercury blues :)

  • @qgjq3c, Johnny is Flat ASS amazing, and your spot on between 4:20 and 5: 50, I 'm 53 and have listend to them all, and Jonny Hiland is WORLD CLASS, Like I mentioned before Eric Claton is my Fave, but Johnny, holy shit, he does stuff I've never heard. I think it's time for EC to pass the baton. Eric I still love you. Losts of good memories EC has given me.

  • @qgjq3c

Amen my friend, I love EC, SRV, BB, all the Freddies, Buddy Guy , and of course JH.

But Johnny is the modern SHIT in my book. Keep it comin Johnny we LOVE YOU.

Thank you LORD for giving us, Johnny Hiland !!!

  • @plumb2013 ...and i would say that the part between 4'20 and 5'50 is probably one of the best rock guitar solos i've ever heard...It demonstrates that JH is much more than a brillant guitarist, but first a great musician...That's rare among the "guitar heroes"..

  • This guy is really an exceptionnal guitarist...Shit!!..Probably the best thing which happened to rock blues since SRV...

  • Go Johnny Go

  • Don't knock the venue..It looks like the late great Sweetwater!

  • I suppose you're playing bigger and better venues? Also playing with Sammy Hagar are you? Have a PRS guitar with your name on it?

Until you do, don't judge him by where he plays. He's doing just fine without our help.

  • if this motherfucker was pretty, Brad Paisley would be out of a job...

  • just close your eyes fool...he is pretty...pretty bad ass that is...!!!!

  • johnny H, what can I say? He's the man.

  • GRANDE!!!

  • Johnny is as good as it gets.

  • the craziest part is hes legally blind

  • you can jam man i like your music jimmy kansas home of the blues.

  • I would give BOTH nuts to be able to play like that! That's God given talent right there!

  • No it's not, he's worked extremely hard to become so accomplished, the talent wasn't given to him.

  • Nobody becomes a world class virtuoso unless they were born and have been blessed with a serious amount of talent. That goes for the arts as well as for sports. You still have to put in the hard work to push your God given ability to that level but if you are not blessed with the talent to begin with no amount of hard rock will get you there. That is a fact, my friend.

  • People aren't given talent in equal doses. Yes, he worked extremely hard, but he also had more natural ability then most. I read of Johnny, as a child, learning a very difficult bluegrass piece in a matter of hours and playing it the next day at a bluegrass festival. The average musician, no matter how dedicated, could not do that. Yes, like it or not, the man has GOD given talent.

  • I wish god would stop screwing so many other people out of talent then

  • God hasn't screwed anyone out of talent. You have to take what is given to you and develop it. It may be writing, it may be playing or singing or acting or writing software, but it's in you. I'm sure you have such talent in you as well.

  • @rockinredneck57 best words of truth i've read yet. totally true. somebody gets it.

  • @rockinredneck57 Yes God has screwed some people out of talent. Just listen to Lil Wayne. The guy has absolutely no talent.

  • @Jshect I'd rather not listen to Lil Wayne if you don't mind!

  • That made me chuckle.

  • yep !!

  • True

  • This is so unfair... this guy is inhuman! :O

  • I´m sure he´d run more if he were not almost completely blind. But I know some Taffs who have no excuse:)))

  • He is so good.

  • SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIT....JOHNNY....A HAGAR CLONE?????? THIS MAN IS IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN!!!!!! KNOWN HIM SINCE HE WAS 10 YEARS OLD......BACK IN MAINE..........PLAYIN WITH HIS BROTHER AND SISTER AS THE 3 Js.....NONE BETTER!!! NONE!!!

  • Wow. He's from MAINE???? He sounds DEEP SOUTH!!!!

  • JH is simply awesome!

  • I was at the namms show when paul reed smith presented johnny with his own prs model. The Johnny Hiland model.

  • I saw him rip it up with Sammy Hagar in Tahoe..kick ass

  • I saw Johnny in Mexico City at Expo Soundcheck 2005. One word: Awesome!!!

  • He plays good, but he runs like a Welshman...

  • look at him, doesnt he run like a welshman?

  • JH is my little bro. Nashville guitarra as fast as it gets. He's getting the kudos he deserves. Johnny is an amazing guitarist regardless of style. I know everyone in Nashville says he went "rock" but it's really about the guitar. Damnit just listen to the music and accept his taste and speed. He's damn fast. And he can still whoop anyone's ass on Broadway (wanna cut heads?)

  • He's definately one of my alltime favorite guitar players, no doubt about it. There is one guy I think that would have no problem cuttin heads with Johnny though down on broadway. Guthrie Trapp who is the best I've ever heard. But Johnny is in my top 5 list.

  • Johnny is so versatile! I have heard many pickers on Broadway that play their brains out but only truly specialize in one style. But Johnny is the complete package. Johnny is not a big headed prick with an ego like so many of the players I have met in Nashville. He is a truly humble guy and has a kind heart.

  • if anyone here thinks that he ain't good in any way. Just be reminded that this man's blind..

    RESPECT!

  • This worth 10 stars not 5. I like also his new PRS model but his sound is in his magic hands.Go Johnny!Go go go!!!

  • Awesome great !!! Go Johnny!!!

  • that's quite impressive

  • Johnny aint no Eddie clone..Eddie doesn't rip country chicken pickin' like JH.

They are both awesome but Johnny is more a country player .

  • obviously you are clueless about guitar, but thanks for watching anyway

  • @tidied He obviously thinks EVH invented every technique there ever was on guitar!

  • If you hear Eddie in this man's playing then you don't listen to much Eddie Van Halen and if you do, you don't pay attention. This man is on a whole different level. He can actually use the pick.

  • And EVH can't? Retard.

  • haha that's an excellent point:P

  • No, not really (not talking about Hagar...he indeed rules), but Johnny's so much more then someone recycling Van Halen licks. He's probably more versatile then Van Halen. Hiland is a master of almost every style of guitar playing imaginable. Not sure you can say that of Van Halen. However, to give credit where it's due, Van Halen innovated an entire style of playing. Can't say that about Johnny Hiland. Hiland may have mastered the guitar, but has yet to reinvent it the way Eddie has.

  • @CHUCKBALLS , spoken like a true idiot.

  • Yeah, Steve Vai signed him to his label and produced his first solo. Billy Sheenan played bass on it for him.

  • WHAT THE!!,

he jsut stood up there and sang like 4 lines ...

    : (, I want mo hagar....

  • i cant believe y ou watched that video to see sammy hagar

  • i know... WTF... never heard this guitar player before, he's pretty Awsome... (this is coming from a person generally concidered to be a Metal Head... lol)

  • Johnny is AWESOME! Hagar: meh...

Please post more Johnny Hiland: complete tunes please!
