I love this movie, but I always thought a scene should've been added where Emma says she's sorry to Bob for poorly eaves dropping on his conversation sparking all of the fighting. She kinda owed Betty one as well. Great movie otherwise, I mean who doesn't want to be in the ski lodge raising a drink to friends and family while listening to a great performance of White Christmas.

It is a tradition that I have kept for many years that I watch this movie no matter how many times it comes on during Christams, I remember watching it during the 70"s & 80's and even the 90's with my Mom and even though she is gone I still make an effort to watch it even though I cry wishing she was here with me to watch it again, Thank you Mom for introducing me into some of the best music and movies ever made, God Bless and RIP. I have watched this movie since i was 13 years old with my mom even when we did not live in the same state we would watch it together we would have it on and make sure to be on the phone together. Singing every song when my Daughter was born we brought her into the tradition. My mother passed suddenly in late 2005. This did not stop the tradition My Daughter and I Still look forward every year to watching it and make sure her pic can see the tv knowing she is still singing with us!
I can not remember when I first watched this on TV ..... My late wife's Mom loves it as much as I .... We try to watch it every year between Thanksgiving & Christmas. She's a widow ( my wife' Dad), I'm a widower( My Sweetie Heart). It hurts, but we enjoy a glass of wine, some laughs & tears ... Well ... Merry Christmas!
I have been watching this movie religiously every year for 40 years, the last 10 or so with my daughter... Not the greatest movie of all time, but a great nostalgic tribute to our World War II heroes, a wonderful feel-good Christmas movie, and a great showcasing of Bing Crosby's immense talents. He was one of the true gentlemen of show business, a class act all the way and one of the greatest popular singers in American music history.
I'm with you, man. Heroic actions and self-sacrifice for the right reasons (and the right people) always get me, too.
I know it's only a storyline but the sentiment was truly there - the vets who have gone on with their lives after the war sacrifice their holiday time with their families to come back and honor the man, the general, who always had their backs during the war, now in his time of greatest need. Priceless!
I'm 23 years old and can't even remember when my family started watching it, it's been that long. It has always been a tradition to watch "White Christmas" on Christmas day along with a bunch of other older classics ("A Christmas Story," "A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims," ect). This movie is so far above all the junk that gets put out at Christmas time. We don't need another Family Channel movie with bad acting and no plot line. Stick with the classics where there was actual talent!
To twilightrose13, I agree. I'm 34 years old and I have watched this beautiful, romantic, and in some scenes funny movie as long as I can remember. I have it on both dvd and vhs. As I grew older, my respect for timeless classics like White Christmas, Miracle on 34th St, and others grew. It's a shame that the respect for these is a slow and dying respect. I always end up tearing up at the end with this scene. May y'alls days be merry and bright and may y'alls Christmases be white. :)
I also want to say that it's too bad that most people in my generation either don't know this movie..or enjoy old movies like these. I thank my mom so much for showing me the magic of the good old fashioned movies, more magical than the new ones. I always fear that movies like this will be lost in future generations. I plan on showing these wonderful things to my children, my grandchildren, in hopes it will be passed down.
My favorite movie of all time. There is just something about it, it makes my heart feel so good each time I see it. I am thankful my mom loved the movie too, if it wasnt for her, I never would have seen it. Oh and I am in my late 20s, and have been watching this every Christmas for as long as I can remember. I am glad it finds new fans each year.

KenKY4 . actually WW II was over when the movie White Christmas was made (1954) and the time of the movie was well after WW II . The 4 entertainers were helping out their retired US Army general" Waverly played by Dean Jaggers by putting on a "big production" show at his Vermont Inn. Back in the 60's and early 70's this move was shown on every Christmas Eve. on national television.

This song is hardly racist, it has to do with Christmas and wanting snow for Christmas. What, do we now hate snow because it is white? This film is one of the best films Bing did, next to The Bells of St Marys, and Going My Way. And who can forget Clooney and Kaye.

I have watched this movie since i was 13 years old with my mom even when we did not live in the same state we would watch it together we would have it on and make sure to be on the phone together. Singing every song when my Daughter was born we brought her into the tradition. My mother passed suddenly in late 2005. This did not stop the tradition My Daughter and I Still look forward every year to watching it and make sure her pic can see the tv knowing she is still singing with us!

I can not remember when I first watched this on TV ..... My late wife's Mom loves it as much as I .... We try to watch it every year between Thanksgiving & Christmas. She's a widow ( my wife' Dad), I'm a widower( My Sweetie Heart). It hurts, but we enjoy a glass of wine, some laughs & tears ... Well ... Merry Christmas!

I have been watching this movie religiously every year for 40 years, the last 10 or so with my daughter... Not the greatest movie of all time, but a great nostalgic tribute to our World War II heroes, a wonderful feel-good Christmas movie, and a great showcasing of Bing Crosby's immense talents. He was one of the true gentlemen of show business, a class act all the way and one of the greatest popular singers in American music history.

I'm with you, man. Heroic actions and self-sacrifice for the right reasons (and the right people) always get me, too.
I know it's only a storyline but the sentiment was truly there - the vets who have gone on with their lives after the war sacrifice their holiday time with their families to come back and honor the man, the general, who always had their backs during the war, now in his time of greatest need. Priceless!
If only people were more like that these days....

I'm 23 years old and can't even remember when my family started watching it, it's been that long. It has always been a tradition to watch "White Christmas" on Christmas day along with a bunch of other older classics ("A Christmas Story," "A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims," ect). This movie is so far above all the junk that gets put out at Christmas time. We don't need another Family Channel movie with bad acting and no plot line. Stick with the classics where there was actual talent!

To twilightrose13, I agree. I'm 34 years old and I have watched this beautiful, romantic, and in some scenes funny movie as long as I can remember. I have it on both dvd and vhs. As I grew older, my respect for timeless classics like White Christmas, Miracle on 34th St, and others grew. It's a shame that the respect for these is a slow and dying respect. I always end up tearing up at the end with this scene. May y'alls days be merry and bright and may y'alls Christmases be white. :)

I also want to say that it's too bad that most people in my generation either don't know this movie..or enjoy old movies like these. I thank my mom so much for showing me the magic of the good old fashioned movies, more magical than the new ones. I always fear that movies like this will be lost in future generations. I plan on showing these wonderful things to my children, my grandchildren, in hopes it will be passed down.

My favorite movie of all time. There is just something about it, it makes my heart feel so good each time I see it. I am thankful my mom loved the movie too, if it wasnt for her, I never would have seen it. Oh and I am in my late 20s, and have been watching this every Christmas for as long as I can remember. I am glad it finds new fans each year.

KenKY4 . actually WW II was over when the movie White Christmas was made (1954) and the time of the movie was well after WW II . The 4 entertainers were helping out their retired US Army general" Waverly played by Dean Jaggers by putting on a "big production" show at his Vermont Inn. Back in the 60's and early 70's this move was shown on every Christmas Eve. on national television.
