Great performance! I know its a small detail but I like how at the end here the background synth keeps playing, but MINUS the famous xylophone loop...it makes a difference at the outro for me, and is kinda reminiscent of ZooTV/Popmart.
I wish my son were there with me, as father and son, enjoying this amazing show... I have travelled all over the world..still travelling with U2 in my Ipod..this sound is timeless and full of real memories...thx for posting this..lots of love
I've heard live performances of this song hundreds of times. I have probably 100 bootlegs of this song on various tours. I've seen them play it live many times. and EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear it i get goosebumps. amazing song.
I was also there and it sounded even better from where i was. Even after seeing U2 on every tour since '85 the quality of performance never fails, a magical song on a magical night!
Having loved this song from the first moment I heard it, I've heard almost every live variation of this tune the band has made. This is probably the most unabashed U2 tune there is, this is impossible to duplicate, and in some ways to refute. It is their best live song. As it was never a hit or a single, it's purely for fans. It keeps living with new verses and intonations, snippets of other tunes. This is the best version I've heard since the Rattle and Hum version! Thanks for filming.
I've heard virtually every version of this song the band has played ever, and this is one of the great performances. Wonderful ad-libbing, scatting, speak/singing from Bono. Less emotive and more meditative. The one song of theirs that continues to evolve and reveal from performance to performance. Thanks for posting.
This was the second performance I've seen this year, the first was in Amsterdam. The show in London was great, and to hear Bad for the second time, in one word 'Magnificent'.
what do u mean, like, do you mean since the tour has started his voice is already crap. Or that all the performances of this song in the last 20 years was shite cuz he had to smoke and ruin his voice
wow, -6, seems that people aren't objective enough. His voice in Milan, 2004, is still wonderful. I mean, especially in this song he is only "talking" the long singing parts. so, even the strongest u2fan - as i am - can't negate that. peace
i wasnt "negateing" anything, i was replying to someone else comment about bono's voice, ok, yes his voice is still wonderfull, but not as wonderfull as it was in the 80's. And you dont have to be the strongest u2fan to say that eiether, i problably have more of their stuff than you, rare things most u2 fans havent heard.
Wow, Bono actually hit the "wide awake" note just like he did on the Amnesty International tour from 1986!!! I couldn't stop replaying that part!! Can't wait to see them in Chicago, please hit that perfect note again for me!!!
I agree with Jysti....I was at the concert of 14th, I was sure they played Bad...this is the best U2 song live: emotions and shivers...I'm so sad to not be there also the 15th....fantastic show!!
I saw 3 concert of U2 and i've never see them play Bad live... :( This song should be play at every U2 concert like also Where The Streets Have No Name. Is the essence of U2
Best Night ever was last nite here at wembley the whole night was awesome but this song was so good best ever will be seeing them again until they retire
A wonderful and very special performance. BTW, you can hear Bono playing some notes at beginning, it was sounding good, maybe it'll develop into something later? Anyway I'm just very very happy that they're playing this song my favorite of all time on this sensational tour. Hope becomes a bit more regular in the set.
