Interesting, you called all animal fat "lard", I was raised beef makes "tallow", pork makes "lard", and bear makes "bear grease" (chicken makes chicken fat and it isn't as good or useful) ... Very interesting

The skill you have shown here is applicable to what I do . I use rendered bear fat or deer fat as a natural wood preservative for my hunting bows and arrows .
