@tristemelody umm there is no specific time , but it took me 2 months maybe ? I learned it w/ my own teq! I can do it tell the end but you have to do it maybe once or twice a week ! and don't forget to do warming ups!
Hey , when you say we can widen the hamstring , does that mean that you can just feel the tendon stretching in more locations around the groin joint or do you actually say that the ENTIRE muscle group widens ? Is it possible to do this for other msulce groups such as in the upper body(pectorial/shoulder). ?
@420Unkown420420 be sure to stretch twice a day for at least a half an our each time. Make sure you warm up before you stretch or else it is not effective. Jog in place for minutes and then do multiple stretches before attempting your splits. Be sure to time you stretches before your splits so you hold them for a good 30 sec. to 1min. And also make sure you do about 6 or 7 affective ones. Good luck!

@celianegrete I used the gymnastic warmup: left and right split video. search splits and you should find it. If you stretch alot, everyday and hold your splits it should help you. I went down 2-3 inches in 1 week so keep working on it.

You have it right. Strong contraction of the front leg followed by stretch is the key. The rear leg is my problem. Male hip geometry is not conducive to deep hip flexor stretches but I will keep at it. Thanks

I'm working on my splits using a program called front splits fast (I'm posting videos of my progress), and I don't think this method would work alone for me, but I'm going to try this after doing front splits fast every two days. I think it would help me open up even more to get into my splits after relaxing with the program :)

@Fairytalevillain Hi just thought I'd reply to you're comment even if you were asking the uploader :) from experiance I know that YES it is! That was my problem! It's quite a big problem because it can twist your joints out of place. Physiotherepy/stretching is advised to get rid of the tightness :) hope that helps!

@The3VVV3 yes... it is normal that your legs might have some pains or aches to feel.. but if you really want to split just continue what you are doing so that if you do a split it is not hard for you to split and no more pains to feel... :)

@The3VVV3 you know, all I can say is.. continue what you are doing, pain is very normal if you would do some basic gymnastics, if you want that thing happened to make a split, don't ever surrender... But if you can still not do it, don't force yourself to do, it's because it may cause harm in your legs... :)
I like your idea about pushing the hand up into the calf like that. I could only try digging my heel into the ground and it was uncomfortable, this adds option. Should it always be the opposite hand?

@dorothee98 kepping your feet straight and toes up works more muscles in ur legs .. pointing ur toes relaxes them so you get a better strentch if you keep them pointed upwards :)
It took me about two months to make a full split. I'm not sure if everyone have it the same but after over a month I was almost there, but then the improvements were slower and slower. I almost thought that there is something wrong with me. I was upset so I gave up for a few days. When I tried again I COULD DO IT! It saw my vacation exercise and I'm so proud of myself that I succeded. I cannot wait to show it to my friends! Namaste ;)

It took me about two months to make a full split. I'm not sure if everyone have it the same but after over a month I was almost there, but then the improvements were slower and slower. I almost thought that there is something wrong with me. I was upset so I gave up for a few days. When I tried again I COULD DO IT! It saw my vacation exercise and I'm so proud of myself that I succeded. I cannot wait to show it to my friends! Namaste ;)

when you do the splits dose it have to hurt cuz some people say it hurts but that is a good thing but others say it is bad

I've been studying a lot of different dance styles, and one thing that always holds me back is my inabililty to do the splits. I'm going to keep at it, thanks for the video.
