  • I've got the same white label. I always found it interesting that this live track got lots of airplay here in Los Angeles on KUTE 102. An R&B/Disco station. It was also popular in dance clubs than faded back into obscurity.

  • That's strange, I wouldn't expect something like that to be popular in dance clubs.

  • It is a great song. If you see the Wings live '79 Paul actually tells the audience to get up out of there seats for this track knowing the crowd would actually shake there rumps. The first time I heard the original track from the McCartney 2 lp it seems so flat compared to this one.

I always thought the Talking Heads took a lot from this song when they recorded Cross Eyed and Painless.

  • This is the kind of song you dance to :)

  • The type of dancing I've see done to a beat this fast is usually Popping, Locking and Breaking. Stuff 99.9999999999% of McCartney's fans are to old to do. LOL!

  • Modifproductions I have a single of this, along with the live version - including "Lunch Box / Odd Sox"! However, the label is orange. Please subscribe for more ranting and records.

  • oh you wher a letter off in the discription it is the coming up live version recorded at glasgow apollo theatre in the book of the wingspan cd set it is listed as mcCartney 2 + single so you are right on one thing!!

  • I like the new view.

Interesting record, as well. Its a 7'er, but it has the LP style center, and is 33 RPM. Well, with the small hole it makes sense: this would keep people from trying to jukebox it and getting terrible playback.

..whatever case, it could have a promo only type label because that was its original intent, but instead they decided to just give it away with the actual record. Wouldn't explain why ALL are like that, but maybe they were lazy and didn't print different labels?

  • Yeah that does make sense. Probably they were lazy!

  • Considering the history of the US and the Beatles, it would make sense for some crazyness like that to continue even into the 80's and beyond. :)

  • Yup!

  • ya That's The Point I Was In A Rush Last Night When I Typed It And The Beatles Info That I Was Giving was kind of wrong I'm Alittle rusty in the mcCartney solo stuff so it was a promo single when radio played it if it was not for the single the album would not chart without the single your right the album would not sell!!

  • ive got the same record except mines only one side.

  • this one is only one sided

  • This Is a single sided record that was apart of the album sometimes can be listed as a bonus track for the album since the album version of the song coming up was on the album already!!!!

  • The reason is that all the radio stations were playing the live version not the album version, so Columbia thought McCartney 2 might not sell if it didn't have the hit live version. So they included the one sided promo with the album.

  • Cool record...I have a regular 45 of this tune with a pic sleeve, and also features the song Lunch Box/Odd Sox. Is that single playing at 33?

  • I looked at the regular version, but thought the promo looked cooler so I got it instead.

  • And yes, it is playing at 33

  • i like the new view

  • Thanks, I think I'll keep it!

  • This is the same version that was released on Wingspan.

  • Cool!

  • On wingspan, in the US, that is. In the UK, the studio version was a bigger hit, IIRC. And nice view of the turntable!

  • Thx!
