tomtrilobite: nitpicky is necessary. i was giving critical feedback and what i said was meant to help. i have studied and played satie in depth and again i will say it is rusty (most noticable is that most of the chords played are slightly rolled, and one completely). and i also stand firm on the definition of classical. "a classic" is a dangerous phrase for describing any piece, esp. when this piece is considered by many to be the first artifact of ambient music. to NightShader1: keep going! :)

you should hear the orpheus chamber orchestra play it... that is a true tear jerker. i think this would sound nice at as a wedding peice. oh and the beginning is to be played with one and hand and a tid bit faster. you lose the movement if it is played to slow... its a dance.
