  • corneria?

  • @jmmyvega

    This came WAY before that.

  • @Alevamltd of course, its just that it sounds very similar to corneria.

  • うわー超またやりたいッス。あの筐体で!

  • 25年経っても古くなっていないのが、あのころのSEGAの凄さ。

  • sorry, WayneWexford's channel

  • WayneWexford channel

  • Missile lock.

Fire fire fire fire fire fire

    Continue?

  • Sounds a lot like Corneria theme with some modifications

  • @HyrdaRancher You'll find this came way, way before.

  • Eastbourne Pier, the South East of England had this in the huge rotating machine version. It was 50p a go, and as such out the price range of this 11 year old. Used to love watching people on it, though.

  • THAT is what I miss most in video game music today. Heaven knows I'm infinitly appreciative of every Halo and Human Revolution sound track, but this tiny little thing -

There's no more LEAD IN MUSIC.

Arcade games have that build at the start, where the game finds a cool way of throwing you into the action, and it sets this...meditative tone I'm in utter love with.

  • Who cares about Starfox anyway i got a F14 and some of the coolest music made in a game :)

  • fire fire fire fire fiire fire fire fire

  • Bayonetta After Burner (Climax

    LOOK IT UP!!!!

or click on it down here since i just saw tht in the link while typping this... god i fail

    JUST WATCH GODDAMIT!!!!

  • @YoshiLover17 ITS TIME TO GO VROOM!!!!

That's actually why i BOUGHT Bayonetta!

  • IMMENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I still want to fly in a jet kill enemy and listen to this music.

  • *Lock on - FIRE!*

  • More Cowbell!

  • @MVPtr4sh

    And tom drums

  • THIS is the reason SEGA ruled the f&%$#ng Arcade!!!

  • right now I recall what the music from the motorbike stage in Bayonetta was from, awesome :-)

  • FUUUUUCK. I would listen to this theme while drag racing. Its getting me pumped up. Thanks for posting this

  • Star Fox ain't got shit on Afterburner.

Now when are the furries gonna come and pound my face into the ground?

  • @KHsonicdude23 Actually, I agree :D

  • @KHsonicdude23 - Barrel rolls cannot save them from the missile attack. >:3

  • Both the 16-bit (8-bit?), and new soundtrack kick ass in climax.

  • Seems this is where they got the inspiration of Starfox's corneria music... Both begin in a very similar way, and the transition to the main melody is almost identical.

  • @tdark987 I like to listen to the Starfox music when I play AB, especially Corneria

  • @tdark987 if you like at the SNES, 64, and some of the Gamecube(Assault) levels, you can tell that Starfox itself was probably inspired from afterburner.

  • @ivan2294 - Indeed, temporary speed boost (or brake), homing charged blasts (in reference to missiles) and THE BARREL ROLL before it was really a Barrel Roll, but then again, we're looking at Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars if we want all that.

  • @FieraDevilWings After Burner was closer to a barrel roll than Star Fox. The Star Fox "barrel roll" is an aileron roll.

  • @SuaveTito - Searched up the aileron roll. You're quite right, actually, but that would probably be because you can still move freely with the controls when you use it ingame.

  • @FieraDevilWings Yeah, Climax's looks even more like a barrel roll. Of course "Do an aileron roll! (Press Z or R twice)" just isn't as catchy, y'know?

  • @SuaveTito - And think about it - it could have been a barrel roll, but the G-Diffusers would stabilise the course of the ship so it does not appear to be one.

  • @FieraDevilWings I suppose so, but even still the G-Diffuser could have made it a barrel roll while staying on course, just a really tight one that would cause Fox to black out. That pesky G-Diffuser makes tearing apart the Star Fox physics really hard (the Arwing's low stall speed, how such a "barrel roll" wouldn't cause Fox to black out even in space, et al).

  • @SuaveTito - The mere fact that they're all animas is enough for you to go WTF (Andross is a VERY MAD MONKEY!)

  • @FieraDevilWings Haha, Andross isn't even that. He's a brain with eyes and tentacles disguised as a money head and hands that makes terrible puns ("Only I have the brains to rule Lylat"). If that doesn't make you go Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, nothing will.

  • @SuaveTito - Then get me a stage 'cause I'm dancing!

  • @SuaveTito He was weirder in Starfox/Starwing. Human head disguising what I can only assume is a CPU cube with his head on it.

  • @Bloodlyshiva I know, right?

  • Dang it, my speakers won't go loud enough.

  • Kenny Loggins WISHES he could have come up with such a bad ass flight song.

  • @DrachMajor There both kick ass songs really. : D

  • thanks for uploading this great tune, reminds me of playing the arcade game,

  • When Afterburner Climax comes out on XBLA and PSN I hope this song is in it like it was in the arcade.

  • Threre's a video on here somewhere with console play footage showing you CAN select the soundtrack.

  • @nerdycub Seriously? I loved playing the game in the arcades (and definitely one reason why I went to DisneyQuest when I was in Florida). Look forward to that.

  • Ya I don't remember the release date, it was posted on Kotaku like 3 months ago but I think April maybe, don't quote me on that though.

  • @nerdycub it is.

  • @nerdycub It actually is. I downloaded Afterburner Climax from the PlayStation Network to my PS3.

  • @BenJabituya To inform you, you are replying to an 11 month old post. I have it and played the ever living shit out of it.

  • hell yeah

  • Bayonetta?

  • There is a better version of this with additional instruments.

  • wooooooooooooooo

  • im playing this full blast in my truck with the windows down going at least....5 mph over the speed limit!

  • i heard this on a game internet radio on my psps its so sick

  • Awesome!

  • This was a great theme, always sounded so cool once it switched to this one at the beginning of stage 4

  • Best game music EVER!

  • Thia is my favourite ingame arcade music in the 80's.... it's screaming topgun!
